How extensive are the crooked activities of the Biden family? After a fresh article from The Daily Mail, which has been termed a “bombshell,” this question is once again being posed.
According to an affidavit related to a dispute between three law firms and a U.S. construction business, Joe Biden’s brother, Jim Biden, was chosen to negotiate a secret transaction with the Saudi government because of his friendship with the then-vice president. At the time, Joe Biden was leading delegations to the Middle Eastern nation, and it was believed that the Saudis “would not dare stiff the brother of the Vice-President who would be instrumental to the deal.”
According to Thomas Sullivan, the former US Treasury officer who filed the document, Jim Biden’s wife stated that the two brothers “told each other everything,” further disproving the claim that Joe Biden was wholly uninvolved in his family’s financial affairs.
Jim Biden was selected because Saudi Arabia ‘would not dare stiff the brother of the Vice-President who would be instrumental to the deal,’ bombshell affidavits obtained by DailyMail.com allege.
Joe’s younger brother Jim, 73, was at the center of a $140million settlement negotiation between Hill International and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2012.
According to the documents, Jim told a former senior US Treasury official working as a private investigator that he was hired to negotiate with the Saudis ‘because of his position and relationship’ to VP Joe Biden – who led delegations to Saudi Arabia at the time.
This contract resembles the one Hunter Biden made with the Ukrainian gas business Burisma. According to the official explanation, it was only a coincidence that Joe Biden’s son earned $80,000 a month from Burisma while his father was in charge of U.S. foreign policy in the country. At the time, Hunter Biden was also giving intelligence agency-level detail on the actions of Russian billionaires. However, this is all coincidental. Ignore the guy hiding behind the curtain.
In this most recent example, Jim Biden revealed to a private investigator that he was paid to arrange a covert back-door transaction with the Saudis because of his brother. We are to think that it was a mere coincidence, considering that Joe Biden led foreign policy in the same country. At the time, there were 195 countries on earth, and by sheer coincidence, the president’s direct family members were generating boatloads of money in countries where he was closely involved as vice president. So many coincidences.
Nevertheless, if we are to trust Jim Biden’s wife, Joe Biden was aware of the transaction and did nothing to prevent the blazing conflict of interest.
Sullivan claimed the President’s brother told him: ‘Of course, the [Biden] name didn’t hurt’, and Jim’s wife Sara, who was present, allegedly said that Joe and his brother ‘told each other everything.’
‘[Biden] stated that he was often sent to meetings to represent Hill because ‘of course, the name didn’t hurt,’ and he was the former Vice-President’s brother, or words to that effect. He repeated this statement at least twice during the interview.
‘I asked specifically if he had attended a meeting with the Saudi Ministry of Trade in mid-February 2012 to receive the final payment for the work Hill had performed. He answered that, to the best of his memory, he had been at such a meeting, and that the reason he had attended was “because of his position and relationship” with his brother.’
Will this lead to anything? Perhaps the law firms attempting to recover the allegedly stolen funds from Jim Biden and the construction business will prevail in their civil action. On a public accountability level, meanwhile, this only offers additional ammunition to the ongoing House GOP inquiry into the systemic corruption of the Biden family. The upshot of it will likely be electoral and not legal considering how tainted the present DOJ is.
