Alex Jones’ wife was arrested for domestic violence on Christmas Eve at their Austin, Texas, home due to ‘medication imbalance,’ according to the Infowars founder.
Erika Wulff Jones, 43, was taken into custody by Travis County Sheriff’s deputies around 8:45 p.m. on Friday.
According to her jail record, Erika faces misdemeanor charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member and resisting arrest, search or transport. Her victim has not yet been identified.
As of Saturday afternoon, Erika Jones had not received a bond. In addition to stating that he believes it was a result of his wife’s recent change of medication, Jones declined to elaborate on how he was injured or what caused it.
‘It’s a private family matter that happened on Christmas Eve,’ Jones told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
‘I love my wife and care about her and it appears to be some kind of medication imbalance.’
In response to an inquiry about Wulff Jones’ arrest, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately provide a report of the arrest, and a spokeswoman could not provide further details.
In response to a request for comment, an attorney for Wulff Jones did not immediately respond.
A lawsuit filed by Jones this week seeks to block subpoenas he received from the House committee investigating the breakdown of order at the Capitol.
Despite being asked to testify before the committee, he refused due to his fears of being accused of lying under oath by Congressional leaders.
‘I don’t want to testify before them because they will lie and say I lied,’ Jones said.
Jones spoke at an event supporting then-President Donald Trump in advance of the riot, and Infowars colleague Owen Shroyer were charged with crimes related to the protest in August.
According to Shroyer, he is innocent.
According to him, his wife’s arrest has nothing to do with politics and is ‘not some kind of hateful or personal thing.’
