Steve Bannon told his War Room audience that US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is seeking to be selected Donald J. Trump’s running mate on a Presidential ticket in 2024.
“This is no shrinking violet, she’s ambitious — she’s not shy about that, nor should she be. … She sees herself on the short list for Trump’s VP,” Bannon told NBC News.
When Greene “looks in the mirror, she sees a potential president smiling back,” Bannon added.
According to an unidentified source quoted by NBC News, Greene’s “whole goal” is to secure the second-in-command position on Trump’s ticket.
The former president declared his candidacy for 2024 shortly after the November midterm elections, but his campaign has been relatively quiet in the weeks following.
Greene, an avid supporter of Trump, supported him prior to his formal campaign debut.
The Daily Mail picked up on Bannon’s remarks and reported on MTG’s moves in the recent GOP power struggle on Capitol Hill:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene believes she may be Donald Trump’s running mate after serving as a mediator during Kevin McCarthy’s struggle for speakership on the House floor.
“The second-term lawmaker from Georgia is seeking to run alongside Trump as he seeks to reclaim the White House four years after refusing to concede, skipping the inauguration claiming fraud, and telling supporters to ‘fight like hell’ the day of the Capitol events,” NBC reported.
Green has carried the MAGA banner inside Congress and kept lines open to the GOP base, with appearances on former chief White House strategist Steve Bannon’s podcast.”

Democrats have already begun ridiculing President Trump as McCarthy’s “master at Mar-a-Lago.”
Being on the presidential ticket and a heartbeat away from the presidency would be a quick ascent for Green, who was thrown off congressional committees and in the minority position just months ago.
Now, she serves on the House Oversight and Accountability and Homeland Security committees, after meeting with now-Speaker Kevin McCarthy and helping him garner support from GOP’rebels’ who opposed him, enabling her to participate in investigations of the Biden administration. In the previous Congress, House Democrats removed her from committees, citing her past “inflammatory statements” as the reason.
The Daily Mail went on with more about MTG:
“She has been a lightning rod for her entire tenure in Congress. Greene said last month that if she had organized January 6, we would have won’ and ‘it would’ve been armed.’
Then, following complaints, she said: ‘The White House needs to learn how sarcasm works. My comments were making fun of Joe Biden and the Democrats.’
An image of her working the House floor was one of the most memorable of McCarthy’s epic 15-vote battle to become speaker. She was trying to hand her phone to Rep.-elect Matt Rosendale (R-MT), with Trump on the line. Rosendale, who was a McCarthy holdout, snapped at her for putting him in an uncomfortable position.
She was also photographed seated next to Republican serial fabulist Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.).”

In June MTG apologized for comparing Capitol mask mandates to the Holocaust. The following month, she cemented ties with Trump during a visit to his Bedminster golf course for the Saudi-funded LIV Golf tournament. CONTINUE READING…
