President Biden was taken aback by a reporter’s persistent probing on the secret papers affair, which is causing the government a major problem.
Joseph Biden is now under FBI investigation for taking secret information with him when he resigned as vice president in 2017.
This is particularly troubling for Biden, given his Justice Department was already investigating former President Trump for the same conduct, meaning that whatever political leverage Biden may have gained from this has disappeared.
On Friday, Biden spoke with ABC’s David Muir, a network that is often favorable to the Biden administration. Nonetheless, Muir had some really difficult and embarrassing questions for the president this time.
Muir questioned Biden around the 10:20 mark of the video below to affirm that none of the confidential materials found in Biden’s possession endangered U.S. intelligence in any way. Biden said saying he was unable to remark because his counsel instructed him to “let the Justice Department make that decision.”
Muir persisted, stating that many people “saw you, though, comment on former President Trump.” Muir questioned, essentially, how Biden’s predicament differed from Trump’s.
Biden said that, unlike Trump, he had welcomed the Justice Department to look for sensitive documents: “And the difference is every single solitary thing I’ve been asked to do I’ve done voluntarily. I’ve invited the Justice Department to come into every aspect of any place that I had any control of. There was no need for search warrants, were no need – well what do you need? Just come, whatever you want. Whatever you want, wherever you want to go, you can go. That was totally different.”
Muir then pressed Biden about the word “responsible” he used to describe Trump’s actions. He inquired whether Biden was also acting recklessly.
Biden reprimanded Muir, a longtime journalist, by stating, “You’re a good lawyer,” and then asserted that his actions were nowhere near as foolish as those of Trump.
“The way in which the boxes were packed up from my office, apparently, not everything was gone through as meticulously as it should have. But there was no intention.”
At this point in the interview, at the 12:44 minute, there was a notable break in coverage while Muir questioned Biden. It is conceivable that the network just shut off dead air, but it is also likely that it was attempting to spare the president from an extremely embarrassing moment.
Following this, Biden reaffirmed that he had allowed investigators to investigate his residence.

This was not the only embarrassing moment in the interview. Earlier, in a series of questions that start at about the 7:30 mark of the video, Biden was forced to admit to Muir that he had not spoken to the mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, since the train crash three weeks ago. All things considered, this interview did not go well for Biden. CONTINUE READING…
