Biden Issues Warning To Staff About Kamala

Vice President Kamala Harris’ trip to Guatemala, which was full of gaffes and embarrassing missteps, reportedly led to Joe Biden threatening to fire White House staff who leaked negative information about the vice president.

As compared to their Republican predecessors, the Biden-Harris administration saw relatively few media leaks in its first year, notes a Politico Playbook article published early in the morning.

Nevertheless, two New York Times journalists in a forthcoming book claim that there was hurt feelings between Biden and Harris’ teams, which forced the president himself to step in.

According to Harris staffers, one of the chief gripes they had during their first year in office was an “impossible” portfolio.

Several times, the president has allegedly delegated critical duties to his deputy, including the southwestern border crisis, voting rights, chairing a pro-union task force, and coordinating a national space policy.

According to Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns’ This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future, Biden’s communications director Kate Bedingfield privately faulted Harris for falling short of the standards she set.

‘In private, Bedingfeld had taken to noting that the vice presidency was not the first time in Harris’s political career that she had fallen short of sky-high expectations: Her Senate office had been messy and her presidential campaign had been a fiasco,’ report the journalists.

‘Perhaps, she suggested, the problem was not the vice president’s staff.’

In a statement to Politico, Biden’s aide criticized: ‘The fact that no one working on this book bothered to call to fact check this unattributed claim tells you what you need to know. Vice President Harris is a force in this administration and I have the utmost respect for the work she does every day to move the country forward.’

In June, an article in the outlet painted Harris’ office as an “abusive environment” which led the president to summon staff into the Oval Office.

When Biden found out that senior staffers were spreading negative stories about the vice president, he told them that they would be removed quickly from their posts.

The relationship between the two is described in the book as being ‘friendly but not close.’

‘Their weekly lunches lacked a real depth of personal and political intimacy,’ according to the authors — a notable deviation from the president’s usual warmth.

Harris herself is also portrayed in the upcoming biography of Biden’s White House as ‘frustrated’ with her current position.

Harris’ frustration level was described as “in the stratosphere” by a senator close to her, according to Martin and Burns.

According to the unnamed legislator, the vice president is experiencing a ‘slow-rolling Greek tragedy’ as a result of his ‘political decline.

‘Her approval numbers were even lower than Biden’s, and other Democrats were already eyeing the 2024 race if Biden declined to run,’ the authors stated.

As of Monday, Harris has lost a tenth member of her staff in national security adviser Nancy McEldowney.

This follows the news last week that Harris’ deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh was leaving the administration.

When Harris was a freshman senator from California, she was noted for her courtroom skills, which she displayed during Congressional hearings.

In her first term, Harris announced her intention to run for president in 2020. The initial excitement around her bid quickly died down amid a crowded Democratic primary field, and she dropped out in December 2019.

And once Biden took office, Harris’ trailblazing status as the first black, Asian and female vice president was quickly overshadowed by both her and the president’s low poll numbers and a number of public gaffes.

Immigration activists were outraged when Harris told people in Guatemala in June not to come to the US during a speech.

Politico quoted a Harris aide later that month saying, ‘It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like s—.’

On Monday, she was mocked for mentioning the “passage of time” four times in a speech aimed at promoting high-speed internet access in Louisiana.

‘The Governor and I and we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right? The significance of the passage of time,’ she rambled.

‘So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs,’ Harris added.

Then she continued: ‘And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children and what that means to the future of our nation, depending on whether or not they have the resources they need to achieve their God-given talent.’
