Biden Just Got Brutal Impeachment News

Constituents of House Republicans will expect Joe Biden to be impeached by them if they take back control in the midterm elections as is widely expected. That’s according to Senator Ted Cruz who stated as much in his most recent podcast.

Cruz said that Democrats “weaponized” impeachment during the presidency of Donald Trump, on his show, Verdict With Ted Cruz. Democrats impeached Trump twice in the lower house on bogus charges.

Last year Trump spoke at CPAC and described being impeached twice and compared it to former Attorney General William Barr’s impeachment. He spoke of how it changed Barr, but it didn’t change him. The former president said he became “worse.”

“He became a different man when the Democrats viciously stated that they wanted to impeach him. They went wild. We want to impeach him. We’re gonna impeach Bill Barr. We’re gonna impeach him. He became different. I understand that. I didn’t become different. I got impeached twice. I became worse,” Trump said. The crowd cheered. “I became worse,” Trump repeated for effect.

Cruz was asked whether House Republicans will do the same to Biden. He responded, ‘I do think there’s a chance of that. Whether it’s justified or not, Democrats weaponized impeachment.’

‘They used it for partisan purposes to go after Trump because they disagreed with him,’ Cruz added.

Cruz said that there are ‘multiple grounds’ on which Biden could be impeached. Specifically, he highlights the southern border crisis and record numbers of migrants crossing into the United States, stressing US immigration infrastructure.

‘The most compelling [reason] is the utter lawlessness of President Biden’s refusal to enforce the border, his decision to just defy federal immigration laws,’ Cruz said.

Rolling back Trump-era border restrictions constitutes dereliction of duty under Article II of the Constitution, which places the enforcement of federal laws in the hands of the commander-in-chief, the senator said.

Lawmakers on the right have proposed impeaching the president’s son Hunter Biden based on his murky foreign dealings.

Cruz went on, ‘The more you weaponize it and turn it into a partisan cudgel — you know, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander — I’ve said it at the time, when we have a Democratic president and a Republican house, you can expect an impeachment proceeding.’

‘That’s not how impeachment is meant to work but I think the Democrats crossed that line. I think there’ll be enormous pressure on a Republican House to begin impeachment proceedings.’

According to a report last month, House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy is already working on investigations of the Biden administration in case his party takes back the majority after the November elections.

There have been several ‘preservation notices’ sent across Biden’s Cabinet in order to keep documents that may be helpful to GOP-controlled committees in the future.

Of the probes, Cruz noted that they are ‘extremely likely to happen.’ Cruz believes that Republicans are 90 percent likely to take back the House from Democrats and that ‘it may be even higher than that.’

‘What’s interesting is in Washington, everybody assumes Republicans are gonna win. I think all the Democrats assume we’re gonna take the House, it’s almost baked into the cake of how everyone handles decision-making,’ the Texas Senator said.

Cruz isn’t so sure if the GOP will retake the Senate, though.

‘I put the odds of our taking the Senate at about 50-50, I think it’s gonna be a really good year, but it’s a bad map,’ he said.

Twenty Republican senators will be up for re-election in this year’s midterm elections, compared with 14 Democrat senators.

‘We have more vulnerable Republican seats up in the Senate than Democrat seats so we’ve got to have a few things bounce right, but if we take the House — which as I said is overwhelmingly likely — then I think we will see serious investigations of the Biden administration,’ Cruz noted.

‘If we take the Senate, I hope we see the Senate engaging similarly in real oversight with teeth.’

More and more members of Nancy Pelosi’s caucus are retiring or running for other offices, which could cost her her position as speaker of the house in November.

It’s being reported that Illinois Rep. Bobby Rush will be leaving the House after this term.

In 2000, the former Black Panther easily defeated a young state senator named Barack Obama to maintain his seat in Virginia’s 1st Congressional District.

Currently, the House has 221 Democrats and 213 Republicans. The lower chamber will lose 24 Democrats, compared with just 12 Republicans, at the end of 2022.

Impeaching Biden is also not a new idea among lawmakers.

On her first day of office, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene filed articles of impeachment against Biden.

Greene stated that Biden is ‘unfit’ for office and ‘will do whatever it takes to bail out Hunter.’

Last September, a group of GOP representatives, led by Bob Gibbs from Ohio, filed articles of impeachment against the president.

In one report, Gibbs alleged three points in which Biden violated his oath of office, including the southern border crisis, evictions, and the botched Afghanistan withdrawal.
The impeachment was co-sponsored by Reps. Andy Biggs of Arizona, Brian Babin of Texas, and Randy Weber of Texas.

Whatever happens, the Democrats brought it upon themselves. In politics, turnabout is fair play.
