Tuesday night, when President Joe Biden signed the “Respect for Marriage Act,” the White House was lighted in rainbow hues, becoming a symbol for LGBT people.
According to The Washington Post, the measure mandates that marriages legitimate under the laws of any state be recognized as such by all other states.
The measure repeals the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996, which established that marriage is between one man and one woman and permitted states to refuse weddings that other states deemed legal. In 2015, the Supreme Court declared in Obergefell v. Hodges that the statute was unconstitutional, although it stayed on the books.
Numerous individuals questioned the sight of the White House becoming a symbol for an interest group. One Twitter user referred to the display as “the dictatorship of the warped,” while another stated that “the world is laughing.” Another poster questioned what the Founding Fathers would think, while another simply said, “Now we’ve seen it all.”
Shocking. And stealing God’s rainbow. This is tyranny of the twisted. “House glows rainbow colors after Biden signs Respect For Marriage Act”https://t.co/LWwKbqP1Ho

A rainbow White House. Now we've seen it all 🤦🏻♀️🌈
Imagine if the Founding Fathers could see the woke insanity that is sweeping across America and the rest of the world. pic.twitter.com/0S7qFtK3cj

This action appealed to a substantial portion of the Democratic Party’s political base.
According to a survey issued last month by the pro-LGBT Human Rights Coalition, 81 percent of LGBT voters who participated in the November House elections voted for Democrats.
In the 2020 elections, Biden garnered a comparable amount of support, according to the research.

Republican Rep. Virginia Foxx of North Carolina is pushing for Congress to pass her bill that protects parents fighting gender transitions from losing custody of their child, according to Fox News.
“Parents have the right and responsibility to keep their children safe. This includes making decisions about life-altering medical treatments and interventions,” she said.
“Determining your child is not going to receive gender transition interventions is not abuse or neglect — it is a parent rightfully making a decision for his or her child. No system should remove a child, or investigate a family for abuse, based on this decision. Nor should a hospital or state be able to circumvent a parent’s right to decide whether his or her child should undergo gender-transition interventions.”
