Biden Slips Real Reason He’s Seeking Re-Election During Visit at Swanky Donor’s House

Amid the fundraising efforts for his re-election campaign in 2024, President Joe Biden disclosed one of the rationales for his intention to continue serving as the commander-in-chief.

The Associated Press reports that former President Donald Trump is the explanation for this.

Biden stated on Tuesday at a fundraising event in Weston, Massachusetts, that his decision might have been influenced by the 45th president.

“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running,” Biden said.

“But we cannot let him win, for the sake of the country.”

The moment was one of several that the Associated Press reported regarding Biden generating headlines during his normally repetitive addresses to wealthy donors in opulent residences.

“Biden has a history of being more candid than usual when surrounded by deep-pocketed supporters,” the report stated.

Despite the fact that Biden may be running due to Trump, it does not seem to be reflected in the current surveys.

A recent Wall Street Journal poll, which was conducted from November 29 to December 4 and released on Saturday, indicated that Biden trailed Trump by a narrow margin.

The poll indicates that in a head-to-head comparison between the two candidates, Biden trails Trump by four percentage points, with 43 percent compared to 47 percent for Trump.

When additional candidates are considered, Trump’s lead over Biden increases by 6 percentage points.

Additionally, the poll revealed that Biden’s unfavorability rating has risen steadily during his presidency.

In November 2021, the current commander in chief was held in unfavorable opinion by 53% of the population. As of this month, that proportion has increased to 61%, with 50% maintaining a “very unfavorable” standpoint.

A margin of error of 2.5 percentage points characterizes the survey, which was carried out via landline, cell phone, and text-to-web.

Despite not having the Republican presidential nomination at this time, Trump maintains his lead in the surveys.

With 59.3 percent of the vote in his favor, Trump maintains his lead, per the polling website Fivethirtyeight.

With a mere 12.6 percent, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is his closest competitor.
