Biden trolled by Trump during epic real-time SOTU response

Donald J. Trump, the sole officially announced Republican contender for 2024, tweeted live comments to Biden’s second State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, which drew a lot of attention.

Trump’s tweets ranged from criticisms on Biden’s bizarre performance — “Too much use of the word ‘folks!'” — to criticism of Republicans who cheered throughout the address, such as Never Trumpers.

“I notice Mitt Romney and some of the RINOs jumping up and down with applause for the wrong reasons!” Trump wrote.

While he had a wide platform, Trump also uploaded a two-minute video blasting the Biden administration on immigration, high gas costs, and crime, with many paying more attention to Trump’s statements than Biden’s.

In the post of the anti-Biden video, Trump wrote that Biden “worked hard tonight” and that “you’ve got to give him credit for trying.”

“I disagree with him on most of his policies, but he put into words what he felt, and he ended the evening far stronger than he began,” Trump wrote. “Many things weren’t mentioned that should have been, but that’s for another time.”

The New York Times seemed hurt by Trump’s posts, reporting:

“Trump stages his own ‘State of the Union’ speech. The former president excoriated President Biden in a two-minute videotaped message from his South Florida home.”

The sour grapes from Michael Burner:

“Eager to burnish his 2024 bona fides as some Republicans raise doubts about his third bid for the White House, former President Donald J. Trump stood Tuesday between two American flags — in his signature blue suit and red tie — and offered his own assessment of the nation.

But even the first line was incorrect. “Here’s the real State of the Union,” Mr. Trump said.

The real State of the Union was delivered earlier Tuesday by the sitting president, Joseph R. Biden Jr. For more than two years, Mr. Trump has repeated the lie that he won the 2020 election, falsely claiming that the election was stolen. His claims have been rebuked by numerous recounts, court rulings and assessments.”

Former President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of criticism on President Joe Biden on Tuesday, providing a somber response to Biden’s State of the Union address.

Trump accused Biden and “the radical Democrats” of failing on immigration and crime, while also criticizing the president’s handling of transgender issues and the United States’ role in the Ukraine war.

More on this story via The Republic Brief:

“Joe Biden’s weaponized Justice Department — and I’m a victim of it — is persecuting his political opponents. His administration is waging war on free speech. They’re trying to indoctrinate and mutilate our children,” Trump said, appearing to read from a script as he looked into the camera, flanked by two U.S. flags. “He’s leading us to the brink of World War III.
