Biden’s Corrupt ‘Disinformation Board’ Just Suffered Major Blow

Last week, Joe Biden announced that he is starting up a government-funded ‘Disinformation Board’ to monitor what Americans post on social media, to make sure that no incorrect information gets out into the public stream.

The new government-sponsored- watchdog over the people- is an eight-month-pregnant Russia expert who called has already protected the American people from the Hunter Biden laptop.

The civil servant called the laptop a ‘Trump campaign product’.

She also is not fond of the idea of free speech on the internet as she claimed that she ‘shudders to think’ about Elon Musk taking over Twitter.

The new Disinformation Governance Board will be housed in the Department of Homeland Security to tackle misinformation in minority communities, to start out with, Kari Donovan reported for Republic Brief.

Now, Republicans are fighting back.

GOP members in the House introduced a bill Tuesday to eliminate the ‘un-American’ new Disinformation Governance Board, which conservatives have compared to Orwell’s ‘Ministry of Truth.’

Mike Johnson, a Republican Representative from Louisiana, is pushing legislation that would defund the new censorship entity within DHS headed by ‘Russian misinformation expert’ Nina Jankowicz.

‘Today I led 50 @HouseGOP Members in introducing a bill to defund Biden’s ‘Ministry of Truth.’ The government has no role in determining what constitutes truth or acceptable speech, and this dystopian, unconstitutional board must be dissolved,’ Johnson posted on Twitter yesterday.

‘If Biden won’t do it, then we will.’

Numerous lawmakers have joined in the proposal to dissolve the board, including Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik and Republican Reps. Andy Biggs and Lauren Boebert, among others.

Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee called for the board to be disbanded as well.

On Tuesday, she wrote an open letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claiming that the new board violates Americans’ First Amendment rights and argued that having Democrats control the board will silence conservative speech.

According to critics, Mayorkas’ new board resembles George Orwell’s ‘Ministry of Truth’ from 1984 and is designed to silence conservative voices. It is clear from the novel that the ministry was used to spread information – and that it was able to rewrite the history of a fictional world in order to change the facts.

Several slogans adorned the outside of the Ministry of Truth in the book: ‘WAR IS PEACE,’ ‘FREEDOM IS SLAVERY,’ and a liberal favorite, ‘IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene declared that the DHS Disinformation Governance Board is ‘communism.’

‘They don’t want you to have it because they don’t want you to be able to say what you think and feel or sort out the truth yourself,’ said the Georgia Republican this week while campaigning in her district.

Democrats, such as Secretary Mayorkas, reject Republican charges that the board is corrupt. Their argument is that the agency is intended to coordinate DHS’s online surveillance.

Conservative and Republican voices are unconvinced as they claim they are already being silenced online.

During last week’s congressional testimony, Mayorkas discussed the Disinformation Governance Board after reports of its formation emerged – even though it seems the unit has been in operation for quite some time.

Following the announcement of her appointment, Jankowicz tweeted: ‘Cat’s out of the bag: here’s what I’ve been up to the past two months, and why I’ve been a bit quiet on here.’

‘Honored to be serving in the Biden Administration @DHSgov and helping shape our counter-disinformation efforts.’

She went on: ‘a HUGE focus of our work, and indeed, one of the key reasons the Board was established, is to maintain the Dept’s committment (sic) to protecting free speech, privacy, civil rights, & civil liberties.’

Jankowicz is already being criticized because of her previous statements and tweets, and an insane video she made.

Jankowicz previously dismissed reports about Biden’s laptop, calling it a Trump campaign product even though several media outlets have now confirmed it is indeed the president’s son’s device.

Also last month, she said she opposed the First Amendment because it harms marginalized groups, and she called billionaire Elon Musk a “free speech absolutist” for wanting to open up Twitter to more people.

Last week, after Tom Fitton, the President of Judicial Watch tweeted, “”Ministry of Truth” is trending because Biden admin appointed a radical leftist to run a censorship board in the Department of Homeland Security a few days after @ElonMusk purchase of @Twitter announced.”

Elon Musk replied, “This is messed up”

When Steven Crowder tweeted about the news, Musk replied that it was “discomforting.”

“The government is creating a misinformation governance board. Who else did something like that? Oh I remember, the Nazi’s. And there’s some data showing some interesting things going on post-@elonmusk’s Twitter takeover!” Crowder posted.

Fox News hosts also blasted Biden’s new disinformation board.

Brian Kilmeade and Sean Hannity called it something out of George Orwell’s dystopian novel, 1984.

Kilmeade began his monologue with “Orwell’s book was meant as a warning to the world that this kind of society could become reality… if the wrong people were in charge,” as he filled in for Jesse Watters during the 7 p.m. broadcast. “But it looks like the Biden administration is taking Orwell’s work not as a warning but as their own manual.”

As Tucker Carlson did throughout the week, Kilmeade said liberals are very concerned about Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter.

He said Democrats “have lost their grip over the one thing that helped them win in 2020 more than anything else, perhaps: control over Big Tech,” Kilmeade remarked. “So now they’re desperate and they’re willing to do anything to hold on to this power… even if it means creating a state-led censorship division.”
