After rumors that President Donald J. Trump will be detained on Tuesday, Trump went on the offensive and urged his fans to protest via social media.
Following a week of fury, we learn Monday morning that it may have all been a joke.
“THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” Trump, a Presidential candidate, posted on Truth Social.
And then the news cycle grew fascinated with the matter, provoking enough anger and irritation that a demonstration did occur over the weekend, and the media exploited the opportunity to slander Trump and his followers.
Rep. Elise Steffanik issued a statement condemning the leak and the probable arrest in response to the news:

Early Monday morning, the Baltimore Sun published with pleasure the specifics of what would occur if Trump were to be detained.
“He would be fingerprinted. He would be photographed. He could even be handcuffed.
And if Donald Trump is indicted by a Manhattan grand jury in the days ahead for his role in a hush money payment to a porn star, the former president of the United States of America will be read the standard Miranda warning: He will be told that he has the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney.”
These are some of the standard procedures for criminal arrests in New York. The arrest of a former commander-in-chief, whose followers previously organized a violent assault on the Capitol, will be everything but normal.
This week, the district attorney’s office and the state body in charge of the courts had preliminary negotiations to arrange for a potential indictment and arraignment. Officials from the Police Department, who police the streets outside the Criminal Courts Building in lower Manhattan, and court officers, who manage security inside the Criminal Courts Building, where Trump would be arraigned, also attended.
And on Sunday, more than a dozen senior Police Department officials and two of the mayor’s top public safety aides met virtually to discuss security, staffing, and contingency plans in the case of demonstrations, according to a source familiar with the discussion.
That meeting followed a call from Trump himself, in a post on his site Truth Social on Saturday morning: “PROTEST,” he exhorted his supporters. “TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”
Some supporters listened:

It is all quite perplexing because the arrest does not appear to be a done deal.
Independent media observed events evolve differently from the mainstream media and spotted a twist in the tale that the MSM did not cover: that one more witness was required before an indictment could be issued.
So was the leak a fake leak?
“The American people force-fed liberal garbage for another entire weekend. We’ll never get this time back. The monsters on the now-communist left dropped the news on Saturday that they will be arresting President Trump on Tuesday,” Joe Hoft wrote about the topic.

Donald Trump announced on Saturday morning that he would be arrested on Tuesday, and the nation has been agog at the prospect of the Leftist establishment crossing the rubicon of arresting its principal opponent on flimsy charges and demonstrating before the entire world that the American republic is now the American banana republic, in which foes of the regime can expect the full weight of corrupt government authority pushing back against them for daring to dissent.
