Rand Paul, a Trump supporter and Republican senator from Kentucky, has been at the forefront of making accusations about the previous president.
Paul was in the news last week as it was reported that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whose candidacy was partially supported by a group backed by George Soros, was near to indicting former President Donald Trump for payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels prior to 2016.
Paul was plainly incensed by the impending indictment, as are other Trump-supporting Republicans.
Paul strongly argued that its nature is political. “An indictment of Trump would be a revolting abuse of authority. The prosecutor should be imprisoned, tweeted the Kentucky Republican.
Republicans saw the assault against Trump as a last-ditch effort, given that previous attempts to undermine the former president have failed.
Trump has regularly addressed the charges on social media, stating in one post, “EVERYBODY KNOWS I’M 100% INNOCENT, INCLUDING BRAGG, BUT HE DOESN’T CARE. HE IS JUST CARRYING OUT THE PLANS OF THE RADICAL LEFT LUNATICS. OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED, AS THEY TELL US TO BE PEACEFUL!”
Now Paul has revealed that a member of his staff was viciously stabbed in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, and he applauds the rapid identification of the offender.
Paul stated in a statement, “This past weekend a member of my staff was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C.”
“I ask you to join Kelley and me in praying for a speedy and complete recovery and thanking the first responders, hospital staff, and police for their diligent actions. We are relieved to hear the suspect has been arrested. At this time we would ask for privacy so everyone can focus on healing and recovery.”
The defendant was apprehended and charged with Assault with the Intent to Kill (Knife) for the March 25, 2023 incident. The employee is still alive and healing.
According to Fox News, the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C. issued a statement on Monday afternoon announcing the arrest of 42-year-old Glynn Neal “in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Knife) offense” and that the incident occurred on the 1300 block of H Street, NE, less than 1.5 miles from the U.S. Capitol.
The injuries Sen. Paul’s staff member sustained are “life-threatening,” according to the police statement.
