The police report that a security officer was pummeled to death outside a Los Angeles nightclub over the weekend.

KTLA-TV reported that the Los Angeles Police Department is searching for a group of individuals who killed a man outside the Dragonfly Hollywood nightclub at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The club is located on Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue in Hollywood.

According to investigators, ten individuals surrounded the male, who was reportedly in his thirties.

The individual was overpowered, struck, and “stomped” to death.

Marc Cota-Robles of WABC-TV shared a video of the aftermath of the fatal attack, which included indistinct footage of the victim lying on the ground.

The establishment was accessible during the attack.

Detective Samuel Marullo of the LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide Division stated that an investigation is underway, but it remains uncertain what prompted the assault.

“The victim was working at this nightclub, and a large group — for unknown reasons — confronted that security guard, causing him to fall into the street,” Marullo said.

The detective added the mob “advanced and kicked and stomped him to death.”

The department has not disclosed any suspect descriptions or additional details regarding whether the assault began inside or outside the Hollywood club.

No one has been arrested in connection with the assault, but officers are requesting any witnesses to come forward.

KTLA obtained video of first responders attempting but ultimately failing to extricate the man.

Following the man’s demise, the establishment announced via its Instagram story that it will temporarily close.

“As we begin to process and mourn the loss of our colleague, Dragonfly will be closed,” the club said in a statement. “Our hearts are with his family at this time.”

The Dragonfly Hollywood calls itself a “dance” club, and it frequently hosts renowned DJs and other musical acts.
