Dem Disaster: No. of Voters Saying Biden’s Illegitimate Skyrockets in WaPo Poll

The result was widespread panic in the WaPo newsroom.

A new poll has been published by The Washington Post, and the results are not favorable, at least not for the type of reader who follows the publication. “Republican loyalty to Trump, rioters climbs in 3 years after Jan. 6 attack.” is the headline, which undoubtedly alarms liberal Beltway insiders.

“Three years after the Jan. 6 attack, Republicans are more sympathetic to those who stormed the U.S. Capitol and more likely to absolve Donald Trump of responsibility for the attack than they were the Post reported on Tuesday.

Yes, start clutching those pearls, WaPo addicts: Only 24 percent of Republicans and 17 percent of Trump voters think that the events of Jan. 6, 2021, constituted “an attack on democracy that should never be forgotten,” according to the poll.

Are you firmly grasping those gemstones, esteemed reader? Cling to them more firmly! Surprisingly, the proportion of respondents who consider Biden’s election “legitimate” decreases substantially between 2021 and 2023.

In collaboration with the Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement at the University of Maryland, The Post surveyed 1,024 adults between December 14 and 18 with the following question: “Regardless of whom you supported in the 2020 election, do you think Joe Biden’s election as president was legitimate, or was he not legitimately elected?”

As opposed to 69 percent in 2021, only 62 percent of those surveyed in 2023 believed Biden’s election to be legitimate, as indicated by the poll results. Furthermore, in 2023, 36 percent of respondents said the election was illegitimate, compared to 29 percent in 2021.

This 7 percentage point difference indicates that approximately 20 percent more respondents in 2023 than in 2021 believed the election to be illegitimate.

Furthermore, across all demographic groups, the proportions of those who deemed Biden’s election legitimate declined: independents (from 72 percent to 66 percent), Democrats (from 94 percent to 91 percent), and Republicans (from 39 percent to 31 percent).

Naturally, The Post attributed this to those insane conspiracy theorists:

“Several voters interviewed by The Post cited what they said was evidence of voter fraud, in particular the long-debunked claim that Georgia election workers were caught on video putting fake ballots into tallies. The two women in that video recently won a $148 million judgment against former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani for spreading those defamatory claims,” the Post’s article stated.

Indeed, candidates such as Rudy Giuliani will command the attention of electors universally, including independent and Democratic constituents, in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

More on this story via The Western Journal:

Note that the Post doesn’t give any quantifiable number of voters who echoed these claims to them before citing them as reasons for the shift in the poll. It just reported that “several” did. WaPo’s gonna WaPo.

So, if this wasn’t Rudy Giuliani and his wacky “long-debunked claims,” what might instead be causing the shift in perception here? CONTINUE READING…
