Democrat far-left activists have called on President Biden to remove his attorney general, Merrick Garland, because of the way he has handled the investigation into the violence at the Capitol Building on Jan. 6, according to the Daily Caller.

“So far, Merrick Garland is failing the United States of America,” Representative Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) told CNN on Sunday.
On Twitter, Castro shared a video of his interview with Jim Acosta: “How many crimes does Trump need to commit to be prosecuted — or at least investigated — by the DOJ? He pressured lawmakers to overturn an election and obstructed justice to hide his crimes. Trump is a threat to our democracy, and we need to treat him like one.”

No charges have been filed against Trump for these crimes, despite Castro’s assertions. Moreover, William Barr, Trump’s former attorney general, has said he hasn’t seen any evidence that Trump has broken any laws, while at the same time saying that the former president was responsible for the riot.
“I haven’t seen anything to say he was legally responsible for it in terms of incitement,” Barr recently told NBC News.
However, leftist Democrats think otherwise and are pushing the AG to take action.
On Saturday, The New York Times reported that President Joe Biden had voiced irritation with the progress of the probe and wished Garland would take swift action. Castro’s remarks follow Biden’s call for Garland to step up.
In addition, House Jan. 6 committee members have complained that the Justice Department did not act quickly to pursue prosecution over referrals for contempt of Congress after some Trump allies ignored subpoenas.
“The Department of Justice also needs to move swiftly,” Representative Elaine Luria (D-VA) said last week on MSNBC.
Justice Department officials reacted strongly against President Biden last October after he called for swift action in some contempt cases involving congressional subpoenas related to the Jan. 6 investigation.
“The Department of Justice will make its own independent decisions in all prosecutions based solely on the facts and the law,” a statement from the agency reads in response.
However, Democratic discontent with the pace of the probe has reached a level where some are now calling for Biden to replace Garland.
“It’s time for a group of respected, experienced, influential legal eagles to sign a letter to President Biden demanding the firing of Merrick Garland,” tweeted former Republican political strategist Cheri Jacobus. “It has to happen, and this can give Biden some political cover. The status quo cannot stand.”

Jennifer Rubin, a columnist who has been described by Politico as one of the most reliable defenders of Biden’s administration, called for the dismissal of Garland in an op-ed piece published on Monday.
“If Biden is displeased with Garland — or finds he lacks the necessary qualities to conduct the sort of investigation our fragile democracy requires — Biden can replace him,” her Washington Post article states. “He has every right to a new attorney general who embraces the public, educational nature of the job and who will push back aggressively against institutional reticence and wariness of disrupting outmoded conventions.”
But Jonathan Turley, a professor at George Washington University Law School, has seen what’s happening. Earlier this week, he wrote in his blog that leaks about Biden’s anger were meant to put pressure on Garland to prosecute. This is in addition to giving political protection to the president.
“These are statements made to aides that were then leaked to the media to get to Garland,” Turley claimed. “That allows the media to say that Biden never said it directly to Garland, but the message was delivered by the media.”
According to Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, the Democrat investigation into the violence at the Capitol Building is simply a “political operation” designed to prevent Trump from being a candidate for president in 2024.
“There’s been subpoenas issued to 11 individuals, 11 American citizens who asked the government permission on an application to hold the Trump rally,” Jordan explained. “The government granted it and now the January 6 committee petitions them to ask them questions about exercising their First Amendment right to assemble.”
“And why would they subpoena me? I didn’t do anything wrong — I talked to the president,” Jordan went on. “I talk to the president all the time. I just think that’s — you know where I’m at on this commission — this is all about going after President Trump. That seems obvious.”
“Everyone in the country sees this as a political operation. This is designed to get after President Trump. Because they don’t want him to run again,” he added.
The Democrats realize that the phony Jan. 6 Committee, created by Nancy Pelosi, will be the first casualty of a Republican-led Congress.
In the article “Garland Faces Growing Pressure as Jan. 6 Investigation Widens” that appeared last week, the outlet continued to promote the narrative that Trump had violated the law and should be prosecuted for the intrusion, and that no one can comprehend Garland’s hesitation.
Here’s what’s really going on.

On Jan. 6, Trump did not violate the law, therefore he can’t be prosecuted. As a result, Garland is hesitating because he knows Democrats are spreading a false narrative and does not wish one day to be held responsible for indicting the former – and possibly future – president of the United States on false allegations.
Reuters reported in August that the FBI had found “scant evidence,” which indicated that the Capitol incursion occurred because Trump supporters planned to overthrow the government.
The report states that the sources “have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on” the FBI’s investigation of what happened on and leading up to January 6th.
Therefore, the only conspiracy that took place on Jan. 6 was one between the FBI, the deep state, and mainstream media. In order to manipulate the American people, these three went to great lengths to create the impression that there was an attempted insurrection.
