Last month we learned that the FBI is investigating the possible withholding of exculpatory information in the investigations into Donald Trump and his campaign collectively known as the Crossfire Hurricane.

While testifying on May 24, Agent Curtis Heide said he is under investigation by the FBI as part of an internal investigation into Crossfire Hurricane for not including exculpatory information or information that negates an allegation or allegations in an application to the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.
According to him, the information consisted of “various consensual recordings.”
In an appearance on Fox News, former Trump campaign associate George Papadopoulos, who was spied on by an FBI source in the run-up to the 2016 election, referred to the FBI investigation as an “incredible twist.”
“Did the FBI willfully take information that they knew was tainted to obtain these fraudulent warrants, or were they duped?” he questioned.
In the weeks before the 2016 election, the FBI was allowed to spy on Carter Page, another Trump campaign associate. Furthermore, the bureau was granted three renewals, enabling it to continue spying on Page for months.
Now that the Russia-collusion hoax has fallen apart on Dems completely, their new scam, the January 6th committee investigating the violence at the Capitol that day, is taking on the looks of a Hollywood production.
An executive from the news industry has been recruited by the House select committee to produce the upcoming primetime hearing of the Democrat-led panel, according to a report on Monday.
James Goldston was the president of ABC News for several years. As an executive producer in the past, he oversaw the operations of Good Morning America and Nightline.
Now, he’s advising members of Congress who say the events of January 6 were the culmination of Donald Trump’s effort to undermine democracy, according to Axios.
Approximately six hearings will be held, starting on Thursday at 8pm ET, with the first hearing reportedly focusing on the day-to-day events of the riot and contextualizing them in the wider effort by Trump and his allies to overthrow the election.
The documentary filmmaker Goldston now runs his own production company Aquitania Films, and he is shaping the event to be a ‘blockbuster investigative special,’ the report states.
The purpose is to present the evidence in a ‘raw’ way so that the news cycle will be prolonged and ‘so that skeptical journalists will find the material fresh.’
Apparently, the former executive hopes to attract viewers outside of those who followed the investigation already.
In addition to videotaped depositions with key witnesses, Goldston has access to previously unseen White House photos from the day of the riot.
There will also be footage from Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s testimony in front of the committee, which sources tell the Washington Post will make for ‘gripping television.’
A selection of footage reportedly taken inside the Capitol on that day, which has been revealed only in part so far, will also be shown.
Reports also suggest that Republicans will mount a major counterattack to the primetime production.
Breitbart news reported:
Republicans are ready to provide counterprogramming to the “illegitimate” January 6 Committee hearing, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) told Breitbart News Saturday.
Stefanik said the committee is about nothing more than punishing political opponents and targeting “patriotic Trump supporters.” Further, she noted that it does not even address the actual issue — to make sure the U.S. Capitol has adequate security. Meanwhile, she said Americans are dealing with rampant inflation, high gas prices, a border crisis, and baby formula crisis. It is going to be both a “circus” and “political witch hunt,” Stefanik predicted.
“[Democrats] are doubling down looking for any desperate attempt to try to change the narrative. But look, the American people are smart. They see through this, they want a Congress that’s focused on the issues that matter to them,” she said.
Further, the House Republican conference chairwoman said the GOP is ready to counter House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) partisan witch hunt.
“We’re working very closely with President Trump and his team with Leader Kevin McCarthy, with Jim Jordan, and really all of the House Republicans will be pushing back in a rapid response fashion,” Stefanik said, previewing what is to come.
“You will see us all over the airwaves, we will be setting the record straight. We will be telling the truth to the American people sharing the facts and also really pointing out how unprecedented and unconstitutional and illegitimate this committee is,” she continued.
Representative Jim Banks, the chair of the Republican Study Committee, has led a separate investigation into the Capitol riot, which addressed the security failures that resulted in the violence on that day.

There is, however, evidence that lawmakers disagree about what their own next steps should be inside the committee room.
For months the committee gathered and shaped evidence for the primetime hearings, but it was having trouble agreeing on what it should do to ensure January 6 won’t happen again.
It has been suggested that the Insurrection Act be strengthened and voter access expanded via same-day registration.
Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin has championed abolishing the Electoral College.
