The reason of death of “Diamond” of the black conservative pair “Diamond and Silk,” Lynette Hardaway, has been disclosed.
Hardaway, age 51, passed suddenly at her North Carolina home on January 8.
According to a death certificate acquired by The Associated Press, Hardaway died of “heart disease due to chronic high blood pressure.”
The AP story stated, “COVID-19 was not listed as a cause or contributing factor on her death certificate, which was provided to the AP by the Hoke County Register of Deeds and was signed by a local doctor. No autopsy was performed.”
During the contentious 2016 presidential campaign, Hardaway and her sister, Rochelle Richardson, the “Silk” of the duo, supported former President Donald Trump by performing at rallies alongside him.
During his president, they served as Fox News commentators, a position they had previously held for Newsmax.
Saturday, Trump attended Hardaway’s memorial ceremony.
“The world has lost one of its brightest stars. We’ve lost one of our purest hearts and that’s for sure,” he stated.
“Through the tears and the grief, let us celebrate this life because we know Diamond lived life like God intended. Silk, we love you … Diamond, I love you,” Trump said, according to The Fayetteville Observer.
Richardson reported that the former president also volunteered to cover Hardaway’s burial costs.
