Did You Notice That Trump Wrote a Few Lines Under His Mugshot?

Former President Donald Trump has transformed a contemporary McCarthyite prosecution into a moment of iconic defiance.

Thursday evening, after being arrested, booked, and photographed at a jail in Fulton County, Georgia, Trump was able to transform this apparent defeat into a resounding victory as his supporters coalesced around him.

In the meantime, the photograph and a “personal note” from the former president appeared on Trump’s online fundraising platform.

“The American people know what’s going on. What has taken place is a travesty of justice and ELECTION INTERFERENCE,” Trump wrote.

“Today, I walked into the lion’s den with one simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA.”

The former president then added what is certain to be perceived as a remarkable expression of sympathy for his ongoing ordeal.

“If you are doing poorly due to the sinister people in control of our country right now, don’t even think about donating!” Trump used italics in his writing.

This statement will further endear the former president to his working-class supporters at a time when Oliver Anthony’s viral anthem “Rich Men North of Richmond” is at the top of the music charts.

Empathy appeals to everyone on a fundamental level, but it becomes irresistible when coupled with uncompromising fortitude.

Thursday at 9:38 p.m., in his first post since January 8, 2021, Trump announced his return to X, formerly Twitter, using his photograph.
