Elon Musk made waves when he reacted to a tweet from Republican Kari Lake of Arizona.
Lake, who lost her 2022 midterm election bid for governor of Arizona, sent Musk a tweet questioning why it looked that users were unable to repost, like, or comment on a post including a link to an article about her newly filed 70-page lawsuit against Maricopa County.
“Is Twitter still suppressing election criticism & news? Notice how the ReTweet/Comment/Like features are disabled on the tweet about my Election Lawsuit? @elonmusk what’s up with this??” Lake tweeted.

Musk, who has demonstrated he is approachable and eager to address concerns with Twitter users, reacted to Lake with an explanation of his position.
“Reasonable criticism of elections and judicial challenges are, of course, lawful. That seems to be the case here. Clear incitement to violence will result in suspension and significant deception should result in a @CommunityNotes correction,” Musk tweeted.

Lake has launched a legal challenge with Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs about the conclusion of her gubernatorial election.
Lake feels she has a “exceptional” case and is prepared to “take it all the way to the Supreme Court” if necessary.
Hobbs declared her victory over Lake last week in the presence of the departing Republican governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, the attorney general, Mark Brnovich, and the chief justice of the state supreme court, Robert Brutinel.
“We’re ready to go with what we believe to be an exceptional lawsuit. And we believe we will be victorious in that lawsuit,” Lake told Real America’s Voice “War Room” host Steve Bannon.
“We’ll take it all the way to the Supreme Court if we have to. We will not stop fighting,” she continued.
