According to a new report, Hunter Biden enlisted former members of the Clinton administration to thwart a corruption investigation into a Ukrainian energy company that granted Hunter Biden a well-compensated membership on its board.
The conclusion of Viktor Shokin’s investigation into Bursima Energy is common knowledge. Former Vice President Joe Biden stated that he instructed Ukrainian officials to remove Shokin or risk losing U.S. assistance. Shokin was let go.
Prior to this, however, Hunter Biden reportedly worked with his U.S. associates to thwart the investigation, according to the Daily Mail, which cited emails from the laptop computer formerly possessed by Hunter Biden as its source.
According to the Mail, in 2014, Hunter Biden enlisted his former law firm, Boies, Schiller & Flexner, to assist with Burisma’s well-founded dread of a corruption investigation by the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office.
He suggested using Nardello & Co., an investigative firm, to conduct some research.
“It would be helpful to gain intelligence on who is leading the restructuring the individuals being considered for those posts,” he wrote.
“Agreed — that is part of what their human intel sources are seeking to learn,” said Boies partner Heather King.
When Shokin intensified his investigation in 2015, Hunter linked Burisma to Blue Star Strategies, a consulting firm operated by former Clinton administration officials.
Vadym Pozharskyi, a Burisma executive, stated in an email dated November 2, 2015 that the “ultimate purpose” of the endeavor was “to close down any cases/pursuits against [Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky] in Ukraine.”
Pozharsky was concerned that nothing in writing mentioned lobbying the State Department, but an email from a business associate to Hunter Biden proved that lobbying was part of the agreement.
Eric Schwerin wrote to Hunter Biden, “I would tell Vadym that this is definitely done deliberately to be on the safe and cautious side and that Sally [Painter, Blue Star COO] and company understand the scope and deliverables.”
Pozharsky eventually conceded, writing to Hunter Biden, “If you and Devon [Archer, a fellow board member] feel comfortable that they will deliver what in real terms we are talking about, we should disregard the wording of the scope and move further with signing and starting actual work.”

The lobbying eventually came to the attention of federal authorities, who required Blue Star to file Foreign Agents Registration Act paperwork in 2021.
Archer told a House committee that he believed Hunter Biden enlisted his father’s help in late 2015. CONTINUE READING…
