Hunter Biden may be the poster child for the underbelly of debauchery and criminal activity among the children of the Washington elite, but a new report in the New York Post reveals that multiple members of the Biden family, spanning four generations, have struggled with substance abuse and criminal activity.
Ashley Biden, the president’s daughter, was detained for possession of marijuana while attending Tulane University in 1999, but no conviction was recorded. A decade later, she was accused of using cocaine at a house party, but there were no legal repercussions.
In 2002, she was arrested for obstructing a police officer and engaging in a brawl outside a Chicago pub, but the charges were withdrawn, according to the Post.

Frank Biden, the president’s brother, was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a catastrophic drunk-driving accident near Cardiff-on-the-Sea, California, in 1999. As a consequence, he was held partially accountable for the murder of 38-year-old Michael Albano. He was ordered to pay nearly $1 million to Albano’s family, but as of 2020, according to the U.K. Daily Mail, he had not paid.
Frank Biden was accused of snatching two DVDs from a Florida Blockbuster by concealing them in his trousers in October 2003. According to records obtained by the Miami New Times, he later neglected to appear for his court hearing. Unsurprisingly, he was not prosecuted for this offense.
According to the New York Post, Frank Biden was detained for intoxicated driving in Fort Lauderdale in August 2003, resulting in a six-month probationary period. A year later, he was arrested again for driving with a suspended license, but he avoided imprisonment by completing a three-month rehabilitation program, according to the Post.
Like Hunter, President Biden’s niece Caroline Biden has had multiple run-ins with the law but has always managed to avoid prison time.
According to the Post, she was detained for DUI and driving without a license in August 2019 after colliding with a tree. Her automobile contained pill vials, and a subsequent blood test confirmed her drug use. She was sentenced to probation after having her arraignment postponed until the day after the presidential election.
According to the Post, she was charged in 2017 for using a stolen credit card to make purchases totaling over $110,000. Later, the felony conviction was overturned, and she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft to avoid imprisonment time.
According to the Post, she was arrested in 2013 for assaulting a police officer during a dispute with a housemate over unpaid rent in a New York City apartment. The case was dropped after she consented to anger management therapy.
And then there’s Hunter, who has openly admitted his drug addiction and been accused of using crack cocaine at Archibald’s Gentlemen’s Club in Washington, D.C., in addition to tax fraud, firearms offenses, and influence peddling at the highest levels.
Numerous images on his abandoned laptop depict him consuming controlled substances, frequently in the company of high-priced escorts. There is no record of him serving prison time for these activities despite these revelations.
