Fox News Host Just Got The Best News Of His Life

Published on

Monday’s debut of Jesse Watters as Fox News’ host of the 7 p.m. Eastern Time slot garnered 3.8 million viewers total – the network’s best ratings in over a year.

The hour-long premiere attracted twice as many viewers as the same day in 2021 and had more viewers than every “Fox News Primetime” show since last year when the show debuted with a rotating cast of hosts.

Watters drew more viewers, including 537,000 from the advertiser-coveted 25 to 54 age bracket, than Fox News has earned at that time slot since Jan. 6 of last year when Trump supporters went into the Capitol Building during a protest of the certification of Biden’s electoral win and election fraud concerns.

The show, “Jesse Watters Primetime” had more viewers than ABC’s popular “The Bachelor.” CNN’s 7 p.m. show, “Erin Burnett OutFront,” had 700,000 people who watched, and MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” raked in 1.2 million viewers. That gave “Jesse Watters Primetime” a 446% edge and a 216% margin over each show respectively.

“The Five,” on which Watters also serves as co-host, attracted 3.9 million viewers on Monday, including 588,000 in the 18-49 demographic.

Moreover, FNC’s “The Five” at 5 PM/ET remained the number one program in cable, with 3.9 million viewers and 588,000 in the demographic.

On the show’s premiere, Watters returned to the man-on-the-street segments that catapulted him to fame on Fox News, giving out a text number to which viewers could text questions and comments.

A few hours earlier, he spoke with TheWrap about his vision for the show, which aims to spark a national dialogue.

Watters promised to expose those who disrespected the American people while celebrating those who promoted American values and liberties.

During his broadcast on Tuesday, the host reaffirmed his promise, offering a fresh take on the nation’s dissatisfaction with President Biden and the media’s role in deliberately misrepresenting him. In typical Watters style, he used colorful analogies to address the country’s dissatisfaction.

“Most of you women watching have been on a blind date,” Watters started. “You know what it’s like, your friends get you all excited about this mystery guy. They talk him up, tell you is he funny smart handsome, and interesting…then you show up. And instead of sitting down for dinner with John Stamos, you realize you are eating with Michael Moore…and somewhere in between your salad and steak you realize you have made a terrible mistake.”

“Now, that’s essentially what happened to America with Joe Biden,” he continued. “The media spent the last few years serving as Biden’s hype man, promising us he’s a moderate, that he’s a great union fighter bring the country back together. Confident and calm. They insisted we were the perfect match because Joe was blue-collar Biden, America always loves a working-class hero. So the media turned Joe into one.”

Watters cited a video of Biden expressing his pride in his roots in Scranton, Pennsylvania, during the 2020 campaign to appeal to working-class voters. Watters said that what the media will not tell you is that Biden moved with his family to Delaware at the age of 10 and has lived in Delaware ever since.

“In reality, the blue-collar Biden was never that blue-collar,” chided Watters, noting Biden’s extensive financial background.

“The Biden family balance sheet has always been full of questionable details. But the media doesn’t care to look into it because it destroys their narrative. Biden is just a product they sold to beat Trump,” Watters went on. “And now that product, Joe Biden, is defective, and they are starting to pull him from the shelves.

“They told us Biden was calm, cool and collected, and a wise man with a steady hand. But he has shown us that he is anything but.”

In a new poll, Joe Biden is only rated with 39 percent support from voters, another low mark for his approval rating.

Separately, a survey shows the president has lost the trust of Americans who believe he does not care about them and is a weak leader, both dire outcomes a year after he became president.

According to data obtained from the Harvard CAPS/Harris survey, Biden’s job approval slumped six points from November. It was his lowest score ever in a Harvard poll since the university began collecting results in March.

In the current poll, he has a disapproval rating of 53 percent, two points higher than in the previous poll.

A little less than half of the people who back Biden say they back him ‘strongly.’ The majority back him ‘somewhat.’

‘This is a new low for President Biden as he struggles to solve a myriad of issues from the pandemic and the economy to immigration and crime that trouble the public,’ writes pollster Mark Penn of the January 19-20 survey.

At the same time as a 40-year high inflation rate and a lingering coronavirus pandemic wreak havoc in the U.S., an increasingly aggressive Russia threatens to sour international peace and launch an invasion into neighboring Ukraine.

According to Gallup’s survey also released on Tuesday, many Americans do not believe Biden can navigate these issues.
