Former socialite Ghislaine Maxwell is giving her first interview since her conviction for sex trafficking in 2021.
In an interview with the television station TalkTV on Monday, the British-born heiress revealed fresh information about her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. She addressed questions from her brother, Kevin Maxwell.
In the conversation, Maxwell voiced her assumption that Epstein was murdered in federal prison.
Regarding Epstein’s death in 2019, the disgraced socialite stated, “I believe that he was murdered,” As he awaited a federal prosecution on sex trafficking allegations, Epstein apparently committed suicide.
“I was shocked. And I wondered how it had happened.”
“Because as far as I was concerned, he was going to… I was sure he was going to appeal. And I was sure that he was covered under the non-prosecution agreement.”
Maxwell, who was found guilty of facilitating the trafficking of kids on Epstein’s behalf, expressed sorrow for her affiliation with the late pedophile tycoon.
“I honestly wish I’d never met him, you know, looking back now. I probably wish I had stayed in England.”
The federal prisoner urged Epstein’s victims to “take out their disappointment and anger on the authorities that authorized” his death, but refused to apologize to the victims.
“I wish them time to heal and to be able to have a productive and good life going forward.”
In the jail interview, Maxwell said that an image of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Epstein trafficking victim Virginia Giuffre was a fake.
