Fox News host Greg Gutfeld has gone viral after defending his former colleague Tucker Carlson on social media after recordings of Carlson’s off-camera banter were disclosed.
Media Matters for America began publishing behind-the-scenes videos of Tucker Carlson during his tenure at Fox News and labeling them “FOXLEAKS” on social media last week.
In one, Carlson criticizes the Fox Nation website’s layout. In another, he jokes with his makeup artist by inquiring if there are “pillow fights” in the women’s lavatory.
Gutfeld stated that those who leak should be embarrassed that they must descend so low.
“imagine having to tell your parents that your job is narcing on the casual comments of other people while they, happily unaware, make a living. Your parents would be so embarrassed and ashamed they’d rather tell their friends you died in a fire,” he posted on Twitter.

As of Sunday morning Eastern Time, 3,3 million people had viewed the post.
It was the second occasion that Gutfeld had defended Carlson. Gutfeld, a co-host on “The Five” in the afternoon and presenter of his own “Gutfeld!” late-night program, had previously criticized Media Matters for disclosing off-air conversations.

Some have suggested that Fox and Media Matters are conspiring to discredit Carlson.
“Fox News teaming up with Media Matters to smear Tucker Carlson is one of the slimiest betrayals I’ve ever seen,” commentator Matt Walsh tweeted.
