Insiders have divulged pertinent information regarding Tucker Carlson’s termination from Fox News in late April.
According to Rolling Stone, network executives informed Tucker Carlson he was being dismissed as part of Fox News’ $787.5 million defamation settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.
“In the latest development to come three weeks after Carlson was removed from his role at the network on April 24, it has been reported that one of Fox Corp.’s eight board members was the one to tell the fired host that his ‘recent benching’ was the result of the secret condition in the Dominion settlement,” the outlet said.
“According to Variety, the conversation between Carlson and the board member took place on April 26 – two days after the network announced Carlson’s involuntary departure from the company. The board member also reportedly told Carlson that the secret condition ensuring Carlson’s canning would not be found in any of the $787.5 million defamation settlement documents because it was a verbal agreement,” the articles added.
Dominion Voting Systems representatives denied the existence of any secret agreements.
In addition to Carlson, Fox News has recently made several noteworthy announcements.
It was discovered over the weekend that Fox News had dismissed all of its investigators.
However, according to a report from the New York Daily News, the investigation squad was merely reorganized and not disbanded.
The Daily News quoted a Fox News source as saying, “Of the seven-person unit, three employees were affected and four were offered alternative positions within the company.” Employees on the team had previously worked in other divisions of the company, and they noted that it had been a while since they had participated in significant investigative programming initiatives.
Following reports that Fox News will soon unveil its “most daring and fearless lineup ever,” rumors and conjecture abound.
The Drudge disclose was the first to disclose on Wednesday that Sean Hannity would replace Tucker Carlson in the 8 p.m. ET time slot. The presenter of “Jesse Watters Primetime” will move from 7 p.m. ET to 9 p.m. ET. Instead of airing at 11 p.m., “The Greg Gutfeld Show” will air at 10 p.m.
If implemented, Gutfeld would replace Laura Ingraham on the 10 p.m. time slot. Unless the network is removing her, Ingraham’s program would have to be moved to 11 p.m. or 7 p.m. ET.
In opposition to the web rumors, Fox News issued a statement that read, “No decision has been made on a new primetime line-up and there are multiple scenarios under consideration.”
Intriguingly, Fox News released a second statement regarding the Ingraham rumors, stating that “reports based on various tweets by left-wing activists are wildly inaccurate — Laura Ingraham, the top-rated woman in cable news, is now and will continue to be a prominent host and integral part of the Fox News lineup.”
Fox News denied only the rumors that Ingraham would be leaving the network in its response. The matter of whether she will continue to air at 10 p.m. was not adequately addressed.
After news aggregator Matt Drudge revealed the story that Fox News would undergo a major reorganization as a consequence of Tucker Carlson’s departure, rumors began to circulate about Laura Ingraham.
“WORLD EXCLUSIVE: FOXNEWS SETS NEW SCHEDULE” read the Drudge Report’s headline.
“Watters currently hosts one of Fox’s top-rated shows at 7 p.m. while Gutfeld hosts a highly-rated late-night show at 11 p.m. — both co-host Fox’s top-rated program The Five at 5 p.m. Hannity, meanwhile, broke the record for longest-running cable news prime time host in April of 2022, eclipsing Larry King at 25 years, six months, and 15 days,” according to Mediaite.
“FOXNEWS is preparing to announce an ambitious new schedule, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, a schedule where every hour of primetime will change!” Drudge went on. “TOP SOURCE TELLS DRUDGE: ‘IT’S OUR BOLDEST AND MOST FEARLESS LINE-UP EVER’…”
James O’Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas, broke the news a week ago via his new media outlet, O’Keefe Media Group (OMG), that Tucker had been dismissed as part of the Dominion litigation settlement.
