As part of an investigation into Chris Cuomo, CNN president Jeff Zucker – considered to be one of the most powerful figures in media – resigned after it was revealed that Cuomo failed to disclose an affair with a colleague with whom he’s worked for more than 20 years.

The television personality, Katie Couric, wrote in her memoir of it all that Zucker had been in a relationship with Allison Gollust, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for CNN Worldwide.

Both left NBC at around the same time in 2010 after near 15 years as colleagues. Their relationship is considered an ‘open secret’ among colleagues; it began at NBC where the two were colleagues.

Both colleagues live in the same Manhattan apartment building, and they are divorced.

‘As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years,’ he wrote in an internal memo to colleagues. ‘I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years. I was required to disclose it when it began but I didn’t. I was wrong.’

Zucker confirmed the affair in a statement released to the New York Times on Wednesday.

‘Jeff and I have been close friends and professional partners for over 20 years,’ she wrote. ‘Recently, our relationship changed during Covid. I regret that we didn’t disclose it at the right time. I’m incredibly proud of my time at CNN and look forward to continuing the great work we do everyday.’

The 17-month delay between a search warrant that secured longtime CNN producer John Griffin’s devices in Vermont and an arrest on child trafficking charges shows that feds “don’t give a da– about these kind of cases,” according to a former FBI agent turned whistleblower who has taken the bureau to task for years.

“He obviously is a sexual predator, and has gone from grooming children into actually ‘capturing’ them,” said Jane Turner, a former FBI special agent who blew the whistle on the FBI’s mishandling of child sex crime cases in North Dakota’s Native American reservations. “Very, very dangerous offender.”

“When confronted with this video during an interview by FBI agents, Griffin’s first response was merely to suggest he was not looking at the naked girl, despite that she was standing so close to him to be touching,” the prosecutor’s pretrial detention memo reads.

Turner has long been critical of the FBI’s handling of child trafficking cases. In one instance that came up in her whistleblowing case, she forced investigators to reopen the case against a suspected child rapist after the 2-year-old victim’s injuries sustained in a sexual assault were mislabeled as stemming from a “motor vehicle accident,” according to her attorneys. The suspect went on to plead guilty.

The allegations against Griffin were serious enough in her view that they should have immediately been investigated by a crack team of agents.

“He has a horrific hatred of women,” Turner told Fox News. “I would like to know his background. He is an incredibly dangerous offender.”

The wife of accused perv John Griffin has filed for divorce, according to court documents.

Allyson Griffin, 46, seeks full custody of the couple’s three kids, alimony, and the family’s $4.5 million Norwalk, Conn. mansion.

The Jan 17 filing requests that her husband be barred from entering the estate.

She claims in court papers that her spouse’s “arrest for various crimes has created a toxic environment.”

John Griffin, 44, was indicted in December by the US Attorney of Vermont and accused of befriending moms online and urging them to come with their daughters for “sexual subservience” training at his Ludlow, Vt. ski villa.

Griffin told his alleged prey that a “woman is a woman regardless of her age,” read a Department of Justice press release. “Griffin sought to persuade parents to allow him to train their daughters to be sexually submissive.”

At least one mom allegedly showed up with a 9-year-old girl she claimed was her adoptive daughter, as part of the revolting BDSM ring, records show.

John and Allyson Griffin have a 9-year-old daughter and two twin boys who are 7. John Griffin had already moved out of the house by the time of his December arrest, Fox News reported.

“Allyson, like everyone else, was stunned and horrified to hear about the charges against her estranged husband, and her heart absolutely breaks for any potential victim in this case,” her attorney Jon Whitcomb told The Post. “She had absolutely no knowledge of any alleged wrongdoings. The couple has been separated for nearly two years, and Allyson has now filed for divorce. She remains focused on raising her children and serving her community.”

John Griffin faces 10 years to life in prison if convicted.

During his CNN career, Griffin boasted about working “shoulder to shoulder” with former anchor Chris Cuomo. Photos from his social media accounts show the pair palling around in various locales — including the White House.

CNN swiftly fired Griffin calling the allegations “deeply disturbing.” The news came just days after Cuomo himself was given the boot over accusations that he inappropriately offered aided his scandal-stained brother, former Gov. Cuomo.

CNN’s ratings took a nosedive by a massive 90 percent both overall and in the all-important demographic coveted by advertisers in the first week of the new year.

Jeff Zucker-led cable news network averaged just 548,000 viewers during the week of Jan. 3 — a major drop from the nearly 2.7 million viewers for the same week in 2021, according to Nielsen ratings.

The year-ago ratings were jolted by the left-leaning network’s coverage of the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol, which resulted in CNN having its most-watched day since Ted Turner launched the news outlet in 1980.

But on the one-year anniversary of the attacks, viewers flipped over to CNN’s right-wing rival, Fox News, which topped the ratings for coverage of the event.

CNN has been plagued by a cascade of high-profile scandals, most notably the firing of its primetime star Chris Cuomo after the anchor was found to be secretly aiding the defense of his embattled older brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, over sexual harassment allegations that resulted in his resignation and now Jeff Zucker.
