The horrifying school shootings, especially the most recent in Uvalde, Texas this past week has our country grief stricken.

Some people want to ban the weapon used instead of being concerned with the mental mindset of individuals who want to massacre children and security at schools.

In Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott revealed he had been “misled” on the timeline of the Uvalde shooting, calling for a full investigation of the law enforcement response and its adherence to standard active shooter procedures, Western Journal reports.

At the elementary school in Uvalde, the shooter was outside the building for 12 minutes without being addressed.

When the shooter entered the building and began murdering 22 students and teachers, the local law enforcement waited almost 50 minutes outside, second-guessing the shooter’s intentions.

Off-duty Border Patrol agents, including one was at a barbershop and received a text from his teacher wife inside the building, stormed the building ignoring local law enforcement’s directions and killed the shooter inside the classroom before he could murder even more people.

Law enforcement in other states are making it clear that any intruders with evil intent will be swiftly dealt with in their communities.

For instance, one Florida sheriff is making it clear his deputies won’t hesitate to act with lethal force to eliminate a deadly threat to innocent students, Western Journal reports.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd discussed his agency’s policies for responding to an active shooter at a school in a Friday news conference.

“We’re going to do our best …. to eliminate the threat outside of the school before they ever get to the children. We’re trained to do that,” said Judd.

Judd explained his agency’s policies in more blunt terms, or, as he called it, “Polk County vernacular.”

This is the last thing you will see before we put a bullet in your head, if you are trying to hurt our children,” Judd warned.

“We’re going to shoot you graveyard dead if you come onto a campus with a gun, threatening our children or shooting at us.”

Judd isn’t the only sheriff in his state pledging that his agency won’t delay to respond with lethal force to a school shooting, Western Journal continues.

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno released a video making his agency’s procedures bluntly clear.

Lee County, FL sheriff’s message to anyone who shoots up a school: “We are going to kill you”
“Present deadly physical force at one of our schools? We’re not waiting one second. We are going to kill you.

“Because you can’t kill evil enough.”

The liberal cry to disarm Americans does not take some factors into account.

The Second Amendment, ” A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,” has been underscored by the actions in Uvalde, as the Border Patrol agent who acted quickly at his wife’s text, going from the barbershop to the school, was armed with a gun he got from the barber, who had one available.

Terrorists do not need guns.

Terrorist acts with bombs, knives, and other weapons show that the weapon of choice does not change the act of terrorizing.

In a 2019 gallup poll, 63% of American gun owners said they own a gun for personal safety and protection. Other reasons include hunting, or that the gun was related to their line of work.

There is the obvious fact as well that even if law-abiding citizens give up weapons, what makes anyone think that criminals will also step forward to follow laws and give up their own guns?

Podcast host Joe Rogan has made his thoughts known in a podcast with Lex Fridman.

Rogan said the following during a recent episode of his podcast with Lex Fridman, Daily Caller reported.

“It’s like, how do you stop that? No one knows how to stop that. What is the answer? Is the answer to take everyone’s guns? Well, they’re not gonna give their guns up. Only criminals are gonna have guns. It’s not gonna be a good situation. Is the answer to make schools these armored compounds, where you have armed guards outside of every school? … Boy, that’s not something we want either”

Maybe this open discourse will include the question of where this mindset of killing children comes from? In decades past, there were no school shootings.

Some schools in America had shooting ranges, and guns were even more prevalent than they are now.

What has happened to the mental health of young people that anyone would even think of doing this?

Rogan brought up violent video games as a reason for shootings in discussion with Pete Dominick, to which Dominick disagreed.

In a previous discussion with Bernie Sanders, Sanders admitted he “would be lying if he talked about having an instant solution.”
