RFK Jr. Sends ‘Sincerest Apologies’ to His Family Over Super Bowl Commercial

Published on

A Super Bowl ad featuring independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stirred controversy, prompting an apology from RFK Jr. The 30-second ad, produced by the American Values 2024 super PAC supporting Kennedy, replicated a campaign advertisement from his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy, using the same music.

However, Bobby and Mark Shriver, RFK Jr.’s cousins, criticized the ad.

“My cousin’s Super Bowl ad used our uncle’s faces—and my Mother’s. She would be appalled by his deadly health care views. Respect for science, vaccines, & health care equity were in her DNA,” remarked Bobby Shriver on X.

Mark Shriver echoed his brother’s sentiments, saying, “I agree with my brother … simple as that.”

RFK Jr. addressed the concerns, expressing apologies to his family. “The ad was created and aired by the American Values Super PAC without any involvement or approvals from my campaign. Federal rules prohibit Super PACs from consulting with me or my staff. I send you and your family my sincerest apologies. God bless you,” Kennedy wrote.

He reiterated this apology, emphasizing that the ad was not endorsed or approved by his campaign due to FEC rules. RFK Jr. is currently on the presidential ballot only in Utah, as per NBC News.
