JUST IN: FBI Makes 6,000 MORE Arrests

In the United States, crime is rising and has been for some time.

In 2021, the average murder rate in the US increased to 6.9 murders per 100,000 people, which is the highest level in more than 20 years. According to federal data, drug overdose deaths worldwide increased at the same time and reached an all-time high of more than 107,000 in 2021.

Why is this taking place?

Bail is one issue.

Critics claim that Democratic-sponsored legislation aimed at reforming bail laws has given serial offenders permission to re-enter society.

For instance, the outcry over convicts charged with minor offenses being kept in jail for protracted periods of time while awaiting trial because they couldn’t afford to pay bond led New York State to reform its bail regulations.

However, several law enforcement officers issued a warning that people who were detained for crimes and then released back onto the streets would likely commit additional crimes, which does appear to be happening.

Pressure on New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has increased as a result of a record-breaking string of homicides in Albuquerque, including from some fellow Democrats.

The governor, who is serving her first term, has backed moves to outlaw pretrial release for some violent offenses, but several lawmakers from her own party have opposed undoing measures that largely ended money bail.

The areas that cut police funding would be another link in the cycle of increased crime.

The Guardian published a piece in 2021 on municipalities that had chosen to stop funding their police forces and officers.

“More than 20 major cities have reduced their police budgets in some form, an unprecedented trend, though the scale and circumstances vary dramatically.

The activists who have long campaigned to take money from U.S. police are now fighting to ensure that the initial cuts are only the start – and that a growing backlash from law enforcement, elected officials and some community groups does not derail their progress.”

Public health was used as a justification for budget redistribution during the Covid 19 outbreak, and several high-profile criminal deaths raised questions about police reform.

The Guardian continued, “‘Public Health and public safety are at the heart of this, said Chris the criminal justice director at Texas Appleseed, a local not-for-profit in Austin, Texas. ‘When we take policing away, we are actually filling that void with alternatives that we know are going to help.’”

During 2020 and 2021, police expenditure was decreased in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and a dozen more cities.

The Hill reported in the spring of last year that overall crime in Chicago had increased by 36% since the previous year.

Police Chief Adrian Diaz reportedly informed the Seattle City Council in the spring of last year, “We’ve had over a 95% increase in more shot fired, with a 171% increase in people being shot compared to last year. And last year was one of the highest years we’ve had on record.”

Federal law enforcement has been in the spotlight about many unethical tactics as the nation is experiencing such rises in crime.

Although the investigation into the events of January 6 at the Capitol building was focused on blaming Trump, it has not produced any evidence that the former president was at fault. Similarly, the recent FBI raid on the Florida home of former President Donald Trump has produced no results against Trump.

The FBI is now boasting about how well their operations have gone.

According to the Epoch Times, the FBI announced that federal agents and local law enforcement officers had detained roughly 6,000 alleged dangerous offenders and gang members. The FBI has come under fire for targeting the former president Donald Trump and his supporters.

More than 2,700 guns linked to criminal activity were also recovered.

In addition to California, Texas, Hawaii, Illinois, New Mexico, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Puerto Rico, these operations were also conducted there.

Except for Pennsylvania, the cities that were mentioned for cutting police funding are not included on that list.

The FBI reported Tuesday that during the previous four months, agents have detained over 6,000 accused violent criminals across the country and have seized more than 2,700 weapons and significant amounts of fentanyl.

“Violent crime is on the minds of a lot of Americans right now and top of mind for police chiefs and sheriffs, who constantly tell me that the rising rate of gun and gang violence is one of their most important and difficult challenges,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a video message about the operation.

“The Los Angeles Metropolitan Task Force on Violent Gangs arrested 28 members and associates of the South Los Angeles-based Eastside Playboys street gang for alleged federal racketeering, firearms, and narcotics charges,” the FBI said in providing an example.

“The task force seized approximately 47 firearms, almost 200 kilograms of methamphetamine, 27 kilograms of cocaine, more than 13 kilograms of fentanyl, and more than seven kilograms of heroin.”

The agency also said its gang task force executed 16 federal search warrants targeting prison and street gangs around Albuquerque, New Mexico.

They ” seized more than one million fentanyl pills, 142 pounds of methamphetamine, 37 firearms, nine ballistic vests, two hand grenades, and $1.8 million in cash,” the bureau said.
