Vice President Kamala Harris quietly deleted a tweet, but Americans were quick to spot her mistake.

In the now-deleted tweet, Harris said the United States is supporting Ukraine “in defense of the NATO alliance,” despite Ukraine not being a NATO nation.

Harris’ office argued that the accounts is controlled by the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which is responsible for the error.

“When I was in Poland,” she began, “I met with U.S. and Polish service members, thanking them for standing with our NATO allies for freedom, peace, and security.”

“The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO alliance,” the tweet read. Take a look:

According to Fox News, the White House altered the transcript from the event, adding the word “[and]” to make it appear that Harris said the United States supports Ukraine and defends surrounding NATO countries, or to indicate that she had simply missed the word but meant to say it.

The DNC said in a statement that “The ‘and’ was omitted by accident, so we took it down and reposted with the correct remarks.”

A new version of the tweet was posted Tuesday night and now reads: “When I was in Poland, I met with U.S. and Polish service members, thanking them for standing with our NATO allies for freedom, peace, and security. The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people and in defense of the NATO alliance.”

Critics have stated that Harris’ message could be signal the Russians that Ukraine is just shy of joining NATO. When Harris was running for president in 2020, she commented on what her commitment would be to the nation if she won.

“As president,” Harris said, “I would continue to support Ukraine and ensure the U.S. is unequivocal in affirming Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I would also prioritize working with the government of Ukraine to build out its military, strengthen its civil society, and combat corruption, while working closely with our European partners on a diplomatic solution. And unlike the current occupant of the White House, I will consistently stand up to Putin in defense of democratic values, human rights, and the international rule of law.”
