On January 6, 2021, the unconstitutional US House Committee, which was dominated by political opponents of Conservatives and of President Donald J. Trump, used the platform to elevate themselves for political purposes, attempting to criminalize their opposition for nearly a year and achieving nothing.

The committee’s foolishness is done, but not before they sought to subpoena a previous president, demonstrating that they are completely out of control with retribution.

CNN broke the news of their humiliating defeat this week:

“The House January 6 committee is withdrawing its subpoena of former President Donald Trump as it concludes its work,” was the outlet’s headline, they went on to report the details:

“In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena,” Chairman Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, wrote in a letter to Trump’s attorney Wednesday obtained by CNN.

“Therefore, through this letter, I hereby formally withdraw the subpoena issued to former President Trump, and notify you that he is no longer obligated to comply or produce records in response to said subpoena,” Thompson added.

In October, the committee subpoenaed Trump for records and testimony relating to its investigation into the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Trump replied to the demand by filing a lawsuit against the committee.

A number of subpoenas for additional witnesses have been rescinded by the committee as it wraps down its investigation. Nonetheless, Trump used the subpoena withdrawal on his social media platforms, alleging, “They probably did so because they knew I did nothing wrong, or they were about to lose in Court.”

“The committee wrapped up its investigation by referring Trump to the Justice Department for potential criminal prosecution on four separate charges. The panel’s referrals, however, hold no legal weight. And the Justice Department has already been scrutinizing Trump as part of its probe into January 6 and efforts to overturn the 2020 election,” CNN reported about the Democrat’s attempted power grab.

Harmeet Dhillon won the contest.

The victory for The Dhillon Law Group, which Trump hired after being subpoenaed for testimony and records in October, comes as Dhillon challenges Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for the position.

“After my firm filed suit on separation of powers grounds to block January 6 House Select Committee’s illegitimate subpoena to President Trump over his activities while president — the committee waved the white flag & withdrew subpoena,” Dhillon said in a tweet Wednesday.

“We were confident of victory,” she added, “in court, given precedent & refusal of prior presidents to testify in Congress. J6 committee wasted millions for a purely political witch-hunt, total abuse of process & power serving no legitimate legislative purpose.”

Dhillon released a copy of a letter signed by Bennie Thompson (D-MS) on January 6 that announced the withdrawal and provided an explanation.
