Asked repeatedly Monday to address Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s false claims about the Omicron variant of COVID-19, White House press secretary Jen Psaki declined to do so before calling on Chicago teachers to work again after they canceled classes for a fourth day due to the record-high number of coronavirus cases in the city.

During her oral argument Friday regarding Biden’s business vaccine mandate that Omicron is so dangerous that “we have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, many on ventilators.”
Approximately 5,000 children in hospitals have COVID-19, according to official data.
Fox News’s Peter Doocy ripped into Psaki, asking, “What do you guys think about COVID misinformation coming from the Supreme Court and Sonia Sotomayor’s false claim that over 100,000 children are in serious condition, many on ventilators?”
Psaki refused to answer the question about the liberal Justice putting out false information, saying, “Well, I’m not going to speak to Supreme Court arguments or statements made in those arguments.”

Psaki continued to deflect by arguing for the mandates, stating, “But I will tell you that what is at stake here is our effort to protect health workers and most importantly, protect patients, with the CMS rule [that requires most healthcare workers to be vaccinated] and also to make workplaces safer with the OSHA rule [the private sector mandate], which we have confidence in our legal argument for. So I will leave it to them to decide, but that’s what’s being argued now.”
The leftist Sotomayor, obviously in favor of dictatorial mandates, spewed the false child hospitalization data as the justices considered whether Biden’s vaccine requirements were legal. According to the OSHA mandate rule, companies with 100 workers or more must adopt policies requiring their workers to be vaccinated or that allow vaccine refusers to continue working if they submit to weekly testing.
In addition, Sotomayor, appointed by former President Obama, said that Omicron was just as deadly for those who are unvaccinated as Delta.
‘Omicron is as deadly as delta and causes as much serious disease in the unvaccinated as delta did. The numbers—look at the hospitalization rates going up. We have more infected people today than we did a year ago in January. We have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators. We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, and many on ventilators.’
Recent studies have shown that the Omicron variant is more infectious than previous strains of Covid-19, but is less virulent than those strains.
Later in the news briefing, RealClearPolitics reporter Philip Wegmann discussed Sotomayor’s claims. Wegmann said that Surgeon General Vivek Murthy called coronavirus misinformation a “public health crisis” in July as part of an effort by the Biden administration to promote vaccination.
“Not long ago in this room, the surgeon general told us that COVID misinformation was a public health threat. I’m wondering if the White House is at all concerned given Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor’s remarks about the Omicron variant that maybe the danger is being overhyped and your message is not getting out?,” Wegmann asked.
Psaki continued to deflect by responding, “I think I just addressed this. Didn’t I answer his question?”
Wegmann continued to dig for an answer: “Are you worried that there’s misinformation that is being spread so much so that even a sitting Supreme Court justice has an inaccurate picture of things?”
“Again, I’m just not going to weigh in on a specific legal argument made in the court,” Psaki again declined to correct the false statements by the leftist justice.
These numbers are inaccurate if ‘serious condition’ means hospitalized.
In the current seven-day average, there are less than 800 children under the age of 18 who have been hospitalized with Covid. That’s a whole lot less than 100,000.
If we count back 16 months, since August of 2020, there haven’t even been 100,000 children hospitalized with Covid-19 in that entire span of time.
In that time period, there were 82,843 children hospitalized, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
There have been about 600 deaths of children under the age of 18 due to Covid-19.
The CDC has found that the majority of young people hospitalized for Covid-19 had underlying conditions – about 61% of teenage patients hospitalized with the virus were obese.
On top of Sotomayor’s false claims, Stephen Breyer, the liberal Justice appointed by Bill Clinton, falsely claimed there were 750 million new cases of Covid-19 in the United States on Thursday.
‘750 million new cases yesterday, or close to that, is a lot. I don’t mean to be facetious.’
That of course is impossible as there are only 330 million people living in the country. A total of 786,824 new infections were recorded in the United States on Thursday so the leftist Breyer seems to have exaggerated just a little bit.
When even Supreme Court justices are willing to lie to push unconstitutional mandates, you know the country is in a world of trouble.
