Cheney, who represents Wyoming, has become well-known for siding with Democrats on key issues and even turning on President Donald Trump.

She voted to impeach Trump over the events of January 6 at the Capitol. She says Republicans are “shameful” for denying Trump’s alleged responsibility for the riot.

Cheney spokesperson Jeremy Adler responded by calling the resolution “laughable.”

In a statement to The Hill, Cheney spokesperson said, “It’s laughable to suggest Liz is anything but a committed conservative Republican.”

“She is bound by her oath to the Constitution. Sadly, a portion of the Wyoming GOP leadership has abandoned that fundamental principle, and instead allowed themselves to be held hostage to the lies of a dangerous and irrational man,” he added.

CNN’s The Lead recently posed the question of whether “there a lane for Liz Cheney in New Hampshire in 2024” in order to run for president.

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas quickly responded, “Yes. It’s called the Democratic primary.”

Cheney fired back calling the GOP “my party.”

She said to Cruz, “I know you’re posturing for the secessionist vote, Ted. But my party, the Republican party, saved the Union. You swore an oath to the Constitution. Act like it.”

The resolution in Wyoming stated, “Previously mentioned in the resolution of censure, Representative Liz Cheney ‘cast her vote in favor of impeachment without any quantifiable evidence of High Crimes or Misdemeanors.”

““As to date, no quantifiable and or undisputed evidence has been offered Representative Liz Cheney to defend her questionable decision.”

Cheney’s outspoken opposition to Donald Trump, his voters and her vote to impeach Trump over the riots on Capitol Hill last January have caused many Republicans and conservatives to question just who she portends to be representing.

Cheney is facing four primary challenges in the next election cycle. One primary opponent, Harriet Hageman, told the Star Tribune that the move was fitting considering Cheney’s break with the state party.

“It’s fitting because Liz Cheney stopped recognizing what Wyomingites care about a long time ago. When she launched her war against President Trump, she completely broke with where we are as a state,” Hageman said in a statement.

The Wyoming GOP’s resolution also asked congressional Republicans to “immediately remove” her from all committee assignments and “expedite her seamless exodus from the Republican Party.”
