US Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is having a temper tantrum in her final days as House Speaker by spitting at the American people and boiling with rage over our freedom to visit the US Capitol Building.
US Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), a candidate for Speaker of the House, informed the media that the newly elected Republican-controlled House of Representatives will move to reopen the U.S. Capitol to the public in 2019, following several years of limitations imposed by the Democratic Party.
McCarthy asserts that House Republicans would completely reopen the U.S. Capitol to the public following the removal of COVID restrictions and the events surrounding January 6.
“One of the first orders of business under your new House Republican majority [will be to fully re-open the U.S. Capitol to the public,” McCarthy wrote on Twitter this week.
“The GOP won control of the House following the 2022 midterm elections, which saw Democrats retain control of the U.S. Senate,” Just The News reported, adding:
“The public has been largely restricted from the U.S. Capitol since early 2020 when officials began clamping down on public functions including tours and congressional observations as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Under Speaker Pelosi’s thoughtful and deliberate leadership, the Capitol Complex has long been on a path to normal: with common-sense, science-based steps to reopen while keeping everyone in our community safe,” the statement argued.”
Here is how it transpired:
McCarthy addressed the following letter to Pelosi on the opening of the Capitol to the public:
Dear Legislative Branch officials,
It has been two years, seven months, and 29 days, or 973 days, since the people’s house was shuttered. The petitioning rights of the American populace have been reduced. The first arm of government went 973 days without being able to freely see their representative in Congress at the Capitol complex. The home was inaccessible for 973 days.
This week, our nation voted for a new leadership team. I am devoted to addressing the concerns of our people and putting our country back on track, beginning with the operations and administration of the House of Representatives.
As a result, beginning on January 3, 2023, the people’s house must once again be accessible to the public. In public reopening, the house is more than simply a symbolic representation of the fact that governance of the People by the people for the people necessitates engagement with the people.

It is for this reason that we must welcome Americans from across this nation back to the halls of Congress. After years of closure, I am aware that there are many Logistics and security requirements needed to reopen the capital, including the Personnel, shortages and side, and the ranks of the US Capitol Police, please.
