Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose fortune has skyrocketed since she was first elected as a public servant, was mocked on Twitter when she stated “no one is above the law” while criticizing former President Donald Trump.
Saturday morning on social media, Trump predicted that he will be imprisoned this week.
On Truth Social, he stated that he had learned through leaks that New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg would indict him for allegedly violating campaign finance laws in relation to allegations that he paid former adult film actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in hush money using campaign funds during the closing stages of the 2016 election.
Daniels has alleged that she had an affair with Trump in 2006, an allegation that Trump has rejected.
The former president’s legal team has asserted that extortion efforts frequently target rich individuals like themselves. Trump has maintained that the payment to Daniels was made from his own account and was essential to keep her from damaging him.
In 2019, federal prosecutors in New York discontinued an investigation into the same topic – Trump, Daniels, and possible breaches of campaign finance laws.
It is unknown if Trump will be detained or prosecuted, but Pelosi, the last person who should weigh in on whether certain individuals are above the law, did so shortly after Trump broke the news on Twitter.
“Whatever the Grand Jury decides, its consideration makes clear: no one is above the law, not even a former President of the United States,” Pelosi tweeted. “The former president’s announcement this morning is reckless: doing so to keep himself in the news & to foment unrest among his supporters.”

In another tweet, she wrote, “He cannot hide from his violations of the law, disrespect for our elections and incitements to violence. Rightfully, our legal system will decide how to hold him accountable.”

In recent years, Pelosi has gained millions of dollars from market trades, yet she has never expressed support for outlawing insider trading by members of Congress.
Last year, when her husband Paul Pelosi was detained for driving under the influence, he was also allegedly given preferential treatment.
After deciding to consume alcohol, getting behind the wheel, and going for a drive, he crashed his Porsche into another vehicle. Officers required hours to do a blood alcohol test, which Mr. Pelosi narrowly passed.
Pelosi’s message was welcomed with ridicule on the internet, which recalled the event.

Pelosi holds Trump to a different standard than she does others, as was made quite evident. Clearly, she has disregarded the assumption of innocent for him.
Pelosi and those like her would receive preferential treatment if the United States truly has two separate judicial systems — one for the elites and one for everyone else.
Trump has not been charged with or convicted of a crime, yet Pelosi is hurling stones from one of the country’s largest glass homes.
