A family friend informed TMZ that Longo’s wife, Stephanie, was working at a local dance class at the time of the incident.
According to TMZ, when Longo did not answer his phone, Stephanie phoned the police and requested that they check on him.
TMZ stated that when police arrived at the residence and had no reaction, they broke down the door. They discovered Longo’s corpse inside.
Although no official cause of death has been disclosed, a family member informed TMZ that they believe it was related to his history of drinking.
A family source revealed to TMZ that Longo has previously battled alcoholism and has likely relapsed.
Along with his wife Stephanie, Longo is survived by three children: a daughter aged 7 and two sons aged 5 and 1.
Stephanie eulogized her husband in a statement to People in which she said, “Cody was our whole world. The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated.
She told TMZ, “He was an amazing father and the best husband.”
Longo is most recognized for his roles in various television series, although he has also acted in cinema.
His arrival in the fictitious midwestern city of Salem on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” which focuses on the lives of its inhabitants, has been noted by many.
The series debuted in 1965 and has about 15,000 episodes. Longo joined the cast in 2011 and has since starred in eight episodes.
Longo was well recognized for his portrayal as rock musician Eddie Duran on the TeenNick sitcom “Hollywood Heights.”
Other series and films in which he appeared include “Piranha 3D,” “Nashville,” and “Make It or Break It.”
