According to NBC News, Santana has been touring with Earth, Wind & Fire and performed on Tuesday in Michigan.

The guitarist is 74 years old. According to his manager, Michael Vrionis, his collapse was the result of heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Medical personnel attended to Santana when he fell and carried him off the stage.

Santana was brought to an emergency room for observation, according to a statement later released by Vrionis, who also stated that Santana was “doing well.”

The medical staff could be seen holding a curtain around Santana while they attended to him in the video of the collapse, according to WDIV News.

It was even requested of the crowd to “please pray for him.”

Santana, though, waved to the audience as they took him off the stage.

Following the collapse, they declared the show to be ended and that any upcoming performances would be postponed.

But Santana himself seems to have recovered quickly.

He released a statement on Facebook overnight, explaining what happened.
