Users of social media reacted vehemently when Elon Musk introduced the new Twitter logo, which he purchased for $42 million. Time will tell if the rebranding is successful or unsuccessful.
Contrary to popular belief, Twitter’s rebranding to “X” following a brief announcement over the weekend was not an impromptu decision. Even if it was part of the path to success of the world’s richest man, the change that eliminated the blue avian made “RIP Twitter” a trend among both doomsayers and admirers.
According to previous reports, Musk had issued a warning that “And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” and he urged participation in logo creation to hasten the transformation.

Sunday, when the company’s San Francisco office building lighted up and the platform’s logo transformed into a stylized X, his demands appeared to have been met. The CEO of the platform, Linda Yaccarino, engaged in the enthusiasm by posting “Lights. “X, camera!”
“It’s an exceptionally rare thing — in life or in business — that you get a second chance to make another big impression,” she posted prior. “Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”
“X is the future state of unlimited interactivity — centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking — creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine,” Yaccarino declared. “There’s absolutely no limit to this transformation.”

Since he founded X.com, which merged with another company to become PayPal, the billionaire’s biographers have documented his numerous marketing uses of the letter X.
“Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future” author Ashlee Vance told NPR that “everyone tried to talk him out of naming the company that back then because of the sexual innuendos, but he really liked it and stuck with it.”
