To avoid becoming the next Bud Light in the eyes of conservative Americans, Target is scrambling.
According to a company source who spoke with Fox News, the retail chain instructed certain Southern United States stores to remove LGBT product displays from the front of their locations.
Target reportedly made the decision to avoid further controversy after LGBT-themed merchandise aimed at children was spotted on store shelves prior to “Pride” month.
Fox reports that stores in South Carolina, Arkansas, and Georgia have relocated LGBT product sections to less prominent locations.
A Friday “emergency” contact, according to a source at Target, instructed managers to take action regarding LGBT sections.
“I think given the current situation with Bud Light, the company is terrified of a Bud Light situation,” the company insider said of the directive.
Target sells “gender fluid” flasks, rainbow-colored clothing for children, and “tuck-friendly” bathing suits, among other LGBT-friendly products. (“Tucking” is a practice in which men conceal the outline of their genitalia in an attempt to appear female.)

The directive to conceal LGBT displays was issued during a corporate call about store safety, according to the source.
“The call was super quick. It was 15 minutes. The first 10 minutes was about how to keep your team safe,” the source said. “The last five was, ‘Move this to the back, take down the mannequins and remove the signage.’”
“We were given 36 hours, told to take all of our ‘Pride’ stuff, the entire section, and move it into a section that’s a third the size. From the front of the store to the back of the store.” CONTINUE READING…
