The Democratic sheriff of Fulton County, Georgia, has stated that his office is prepared to take a mugshot of former President Donald Trump if he is indicted this month by District Attorney Fani Willis.
Willis convened a grand jury to investigate whether Trump attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in her county during the heated campaign.
She previously suggested that a decision on charges could be made by the end of August.
Trump has been indicted on 34 counts of falsifying business documents in New York City.
The Justice Department has also indicted him in the case of classified documents discovered at his Florida residence and resort.
The DOJ indicted him on four counts relating to the 2020 election and its aftermath on Tuesday.
Trump has denied any malfeasance in the prior indictments and has maintained that he did nothing improper in Georgia.
A prospective incitement in the Peach State could elicit a mugshot, which neither the Department of Justice nor Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s charges against Trump did.
During an interview with WSB-TV, Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat stated, in response to Trump’s Tuesday indictment, that he is prepared to treat the former president as he would any other alleged criminal.
If given the opportunity, the Democrat and the chief of police in the county appeared anxious to fingerprint and photograph Trump.
“Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mugshot ready for you,” Labat told the network.
“If an indictment came today, we would be ready,” Labat said, according to the New York Post.

Willis has kept her cards close to her vest, but she did tell WXIA-TV in Atlanta on Saturday that she has remained in contact with Labat regarding a potential Trump indictment. CONTINUE READING…
