Trump Reveals MAJOR Page ‘Missing’ From Affidavit

Published on

The Department of Justice has finally published the affidavit for the search warrant the FBI used to raid the Florida residence of former President Donald Trump, but only after heavily redacting its contents.

Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart of the Southern District of Florida, who had initially approved the warrant, directed the DOJ to make redactions to the affidavit after rejecting their request to keep the document confidential.

Thursday, Reinhart authorized the redactions.

While attempting to justify the raid, the Justice Department also concealed its justifications for the redactions.

“agent safety” is the sole reason not censored.

Every additional justification for the redactions has been redacted.

CNN reported that the court ordered the publication of the redacted version of the document mere hours after the Department of Justice filed its redacted version.

Now, the redacted affidavit has been distributed to the media.

The media is responding with scorn on Twitter.

From the outset of the search, Trump has accused the government of failing to provide “any reason for the unprecedented, general search of his home”  and the FBI of seizing “privileged and/or potentially privileged materials … that were outside the lawful reach of an already over broad warrant.”

Trump filed a move asking the appointment of a “special master” to independently analyze the Mar-a-Lago records on Monday, possibly anticipating the extensive redactions.

Anthony Coley, spokesman for the Department of Justice, stated, “The United States has filed a submission under seal per the Court’s order of Aug. 22. The Justice Department respectfully declines further comment as the Court considers the matter.”

Prosecutors from the Department of Justice have highlighted the necessity for continuous secrecy so as not to jeopardize the ongoing criminal investigation, especially as they maintain the confidentiality of grand jury proceedings and safeguard witnesses who have or potentially give information.

In his order, Reinhart said the Justice Department convinced him that portions of the affidavit should remain sealed because “disclosure would reveal (1) the identities of witnesses, law enforcement agents, and uncharged parties, (2) the investigation’s strategy, direction, scope, sources, and methods, and (3) grand jury information.”

US Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart says he will unseal some of the procedural filings currently under seal on the search warrant docket.

“I am not prepared to find that the affidavit should be fully sealed,” the judge said, meaning that, at minimum, some of the affidavit will be revealed.

“According to the judge’s comments, the filings are the Department of Justice’s motion to seal the warrant documents, the order granting that sealing request, and the criminal cover sheet,” CNN reported.

Jay Bratt, a Justice Department lawyer, argued that allowing the public to read the affidavit would “provide a roadmap to the investigation,” and would indicate the next steps in the probe.

“In this case, the court has found probable cause there’s a violation of one of the obstruction statutes, and that evidence of obstruction would be found at Mar-a-Lago” said Jay Bratt, who heads the Justice Department’s counterintelligence section.

The “public has a ‘clear and powerful’ interest in understanding the unprecedented investigation in former President Donald J. Trump’s handling of classified records,” the media organizations including CNN, the New York Times, and the Washington Post said.

The Department of Justice argued that the affidavit should stay sealed.

“If disclosed, the affidavit would serve as a roadmap to the government’s ongoing investigation, providing specific details about its direction and likely course, in a manner that is highly likely to compromise future investigative steps,” it said.

But the former President Trump has been calling for it to be shown to everyone.

“In the interest of TRANSPARENCY, I call for the immediate release of the completely Unredacted Affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking BREAK-IN,” he said. “Also, the Judge on this case should recuse!”

The 45th President has responded with fire, and humor, after the heavily redacted affidavit that paved the way for the FBI search of his Mar-a-Lago residence was revealed.

Trump took to his Truth Social account and tore into everyone involved with the affidavit.

“Affidavit heavily redacted!!!

Nothing mentioned on ‘Nuclear,’ a total public relations subterfuge by the FBI & DOJ, or our close working relationship regarding document turnover – WE GAVE THEM MUCH.

Judge Bruce Reinhart should NEVER have allowed the Break-In of my home. He recused himself two months ago from one of my cases based on his animosity and hatred of your favorite President, me. What changed?

Why hasn’t he recused himself on this case? Obama must be very proud of him right now!” he said.

Trump followed that with another post in which he said, “WITCH HUNT!!!” and another that said, “They missed a page!” with a fake affidavit image attached that showed everything redacted other than the words “Make America Great Again.”

Always to the point, the former president posted today, “Keep loving our Country – it will come back into your hearts stronger than ever before!!!”
