Donald Trump on Wednesday called CNN boss Jeff Zucker a ‘world-class sleazebag’ and insisted his relationship with a colleague was not the only reason the CNN chief resigned.

‘Jeff Zucker, a world-class sleazebag who has headed ratings and real-news-challenged CNN for far too long, has been terminated for numerous reasons, but predominantly because CNN has lost its way with viewers and everybody else,’ Trump declared in a statement.
Trump and Zucker often disagreed in recent years, but when Zucker was president of NBC Entertainment, he greenlighted The Apprentice, making Trump a reality television star, which helped Trump win the White House in 2016.
Trump, who has criticized the mainstream media for its criticism of him, commented on Zucker’s departure as an opportunity for CNN to reboot.
‘Now is a change to put Fake News in the backseat because there may not be anything more important than straightening out the horrendous LameStream Media in our Country, and in the case of CNN, throughout the World,’ he added.
‘Jeff Zucker is gone – congratulations to all!’
Zucker’s firing came after he failed to disclose a sexual relationship with a fellow employee, which came to light in the probe into former anchor Chris Cuomo’s conduct.
A memo written by Zucker to colleagues obtained by The New York Times stated, ‘As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years.’
‘I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years. I was required to disclose it when it began but I didn’t. I was wrong,’ he admitted.
Zucker was romantically involved with Allison Gollust, an executive at CNN.
Trump has long criticized CNN’s coverage, with rally attendees often chanting ‘CNN sucks’ near the press pen at his rallies.
Yet Zucker, who headed CNN at the start of Trump’s 2016 run, helped him become famous.
Even before Trump rallies got underway, Zucker pushed for the network to broadcast the events.
‘DONALD TRUMP EXPECTED TO SPEAK ANY MINUTE,’ screamed at the bottom of TV screens.
Meanwhile, according to a recording of Trump’s fixer Michael Cohen and reported in The New York Times, Zucker and the Trump campaign would be back-channeling.
In the years following Trump’s election, the network became more anti-Trump.
As The New York Times’ Ben Smith wrote in September 2020, CNN’s more anti-Trump version may have just been ‘Mr. Zucker’s latest reflexive adaptation in search of ratings.’
‘The other is that Mr. Zucker, TV’s Dr. Frankenstein, has been willing to dent his network’s nonpartisan brand in order to kill his runaway monster, Mr. Trump,’ Smith emphasized.
Fox has also come under fire in the past few weeks for not doing enough to cover election fraud allegations.
Trump’s rallies are also not covered live by Fox News Channel as they once were.
‘The Fox scam is over! Fox does not cover Trump at all, whatsoever,’ Donald Trump’s former White House strategist Steve Bannon said in mid-January following Trump’s rally in Arizona.
During the month of January, Trump held two rallies, one in Arizona and one in Texas.
Trump will also attend the Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida on the last weekend of February, according to the American Conservative Union.
A COVID-19 restriction against large gatherings in Maryland saw CPAC move to Orlando last year.
CPAC was held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, which is outside of Washington, DC along the Potomac River.
Yesterday our own Kari Donovan reported on Trump’s fundraising successes:
“On Monday, an announcement was made that Trump and the America First movement are now a mainstay in American politics. Trump’s Political Action Committees reported that they have over $120 million on hand.
The Republican Party and the media are going to have to learn to live with the news that Trump is back, whether he runs himself as POTUS or if he spends his political capital on other candidates- it is clear that the American people want what Trump is selling.
In fact, the Trump Train and MAGA Convoy appear to have picked up speed since 2016, with regular people putting their money on the line to invest in Trump’s agenda for the country.
In fact- Trump’s dreamers have invested a great deal of money into his Political Action Committee to bring his ideas back to Washington DC.

“The key fundraising numbers released Monday show an average donation of $31 among 1,631,648 total donations. Of those, 98.6% are small donations of under $200, according to the Save America PAC,” Newsmax noted about the money haul. That is the power of the Populist movement Trump helped establish.
Trump beat his own previous records for most money raised by a former president, as documented by his spokeswoman, Kiz Harrington.
“President Donald J. Trump’s Political Committees Announce OVER $122 Million Cash on Hand, with over $51 Million Raised from Jul 1-Dec 31, 2021.”
“President Trump’s continued and unprecedented pace of fundraising shows that the future of the Republican Party in 2022 and beyond remains, perhaps, the strongest in our country’s history — the MAGA movement is here to stay!” the Save America PAC statement Monday read.”
