Who could have imagined that Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon would indirectly assist President Joe Biden on Monday, working together?

Biden always confronted an uphill battle when it came to announcing his re-election campaign, given his historical unpopularity and concerns regarding his advanced age.

Given that he would have to explain the abrupt departure of one of his senior officials, this announcement was likely to become more uncomfortable.

The stunning departures of Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon from Fox News and CNN, respectively, on Monday completely reshaped the media landscape of the establishment.

The sudden departure from the White House of Susan Rice, Vice President Joe Biden’s domestic policy adviser and former national security advisor under President Barack Obama, will be the third most startling event of Monday.

During her tenure in the Clinton administration, Rice held multiple prominent positions, including that of National Security Council member.

She was as inextricably linked to prominent Democrats as any political figure in recent memory, which makes her departure all the more shocking.

Biden announced Rice’s departure from her current position in a statement released early on Monday.

“[A]fter more than two years of her steady leadership of the Domestic Policy Council – it’s clear: there is no one more capable, and more determined to get important things done for the American people than Susan Rice,” stated the statement.

The remainder of Biden’s statement consisted of a list of Rice’s accomplishments, including the highly divisive “Affordable Care Act.”

“Thanks to her tireless efforts, we expanded and strengthened the Affordable Care Act, released a comprehensive national mental health strategy, and finally enabled Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices for seniors and cap the cost of insulin at $35,” the statement continued.
