According to reports, the Biden administration has altered its account of where cocaine was discovered at the White House over the weekend, now claiming that it was discovered in an area frequented by Vice President Kamala Harris and others.
The West Wing of the White House was evacuated momentarily on Sunday after a suitcase containing an unidentified white substance was discovered.
On Sunday evening, a Secret Service representative reported that there was no threat.
The agency’s communications chief Anthony Guglielmi told The Hill, “On Sunday evening, the White House complex went into a precautionary closure as officers from the Secret Service Uniformed Division investigated an unknown item found inside a work area.”
“The DC Fire Department was called to evaluate and quickly determined the item to be non-hazardous,” Guglielmi concluded. “The item was sent for further evaluation and an investigation into the cause and manner of how it entered the White House is pending.”
The substance was subsequently analyzed and determined to be cocaine.
On Wednesday, reporters bombarded White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre with queries about the extraordinary discovery and its possible perpetrator.
Initially, it was reported that the narcotic was discovered in the formal West Wing foyer.
According to sources close to the investigation cited by NBC News, it was found in a compartment in the West Executive cellar.
The network also reported, with no evident innuendo intended, that the area is “heavily trafficked.” Typically, the location is used to store electronic devices.
According to NBC, the location is also close to where Harris is located when she is transported to the White House.
Kelly O’Donnell and Megan Lebowitz, reporters, reported:
“The cocaine was found in an entrance area between the foyer and a lower-level lobby, the sources said. The entrance is near where some vehicles, like the vice president’s limo or SUV park. It is one floor below the main West Wing offices and the same floor as the Situation Room and a dining area.”
O’Donnell discussed the latest twist with MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell on Thursday afternoon:

Wednesday, Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton sent a letter to the Secret Service demanding all available information regarding the discovery.
Reportedly, President Joe Biden and his family were at Camp David when the cocaine was discovered.
On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump posted about the discovery on Truth Social.
“Does anybody really believe that the COCAINE found in the West Wing of the White House, very close to the Oval Office, is for the use of anyone other than Hunter & Joe Biden,” he wrote.
