Whoopi Goldberg Pays The Price For Celebrating Tucker Being Fired

Whoopi Goldberg, the host of the ABC talk program “The View,” received a great deal of backlash from her admirers after she applauded Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News.

“Word has just come down that Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” she said.

Before joining the throng in a gesture, she read what Fox News had to say about the termination.

Many people on Twitter expressed concern over that.

“Not one of these women could solo host a show and get ratings. Not one. They are & will always be ensemble players. Their jealousy is on full display here, and ideological hatred too of course,” former Fox News host Megyn Kelly said.

“@ABC Hey — This is good. @Fox is being responsible by firing Tucker. CNN is being responsible for firing Lemon,” another Twitter user said. “Now it’s your turn @abc @disney and fire toxic Whoopi, Sunny and Anna. And you @msnbc you have way too many toxic hosts to list.”

“You know who they are and fire them,” they said.

Fox News reported on Monday morning that the popular primetime personality Tucker Carlson and the network “have agreed to part ways” after more than a decade.

According to a statement read on “Outnumbered” by presenter Harris Fakhar, the network will occupy Carlson’s 8 p.m. time slot with a variety of rotating hosts. According to Fox, Carlson’s last program aired on Friday, and beginning Monday night, the network will air “an interim show with rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.”

Monday, Fox issued a statement verifying Carlson’s departure from the network.

“Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st, Fox News said, meaning Carlson did not get a chance to sign off to his viewers. The news comes days after Fox News reached a historic 11th hour settlement with Dominion Voting Systems for over $787 million,” Axios reported.

“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor. Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named,” Fox News said in a statement, Mediate reported.

“FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month,” the statement added.

Fox News stunned his supporters and the rest of the cable industry by announcing last week that Dan Bongino had severed ties with the network.

“Folks, regretfully, last week was my last show on Fox News on the Fox News Channel,” the host said on his podcast Thursday Variety reported. “It’s tough. It’s tough to say that. You know, I’ve been there doing hits and working there for ten years…so the show ending was tough. And I want you to know it’s not some big conspiracy. I promise you. There’s no acrimony. This wasn’t some WWE brawl that happened. We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension.”

“We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors,” the network said.
